You wouldn't be able to sell them. They go straight to your datapad.

Do Master Smugglers get a discount on the faction armor schematics?
Slim Vargo, Corbantis
yes they do
But remember you need to be an Armorsmith to buy the schematics and they are non-tradable.

Hmmm, another question for you, if you have time to test it: Can a Novice AS buy the schematics, or can only Master AS buy the faction armor schematics? Reason I ask, my alt was an AS but I'm now grinding up Smuggler on him. If a novice AS can buy the schems, it might be worth 6 skillpoints to keep it.

Doh! Good point, I forgot about that. Thanks.
BTW, for anyone who's interested, I managed to get on TC-Ep3 finally and I test it myself. I slowly added armorsmith skills to my toon and checked with the recruiter each time to see if I could buy the schematics. Up to 2/2/0/2 AS I was notable to buy the schematics. After that I got bored, jumped to Master Armorsmith and was able to buy them. So it seems Novice AS can't buy faction armor schematics.

I was the highest rank possible. I did not test other ranks. Ill do that tonight from the same planet/location.Cool, i was just curious, but i'm worried it'll cost a lower ranking person more.....which it might
.
Oh, and were there any racial modifiers, ie human/zabrak, etc.?

I updated the FAQ with your questions.
No on lower rank costs
and yes to Racial increase costs.

Hawt. This means one less thing on my list of things to address...Is this FP number ok for us now, bio-link wise?
I think so. I think a 13k decrease in FP cost is a huge improvement and seems pretty reasonable to pay. That is really nothing if you have JTL.
I would say this one is done

Ok, so, the way I understand this (correct me if I'm worng cuz I haven't gotten a chance to fool with this) but if you're a non-human, the FP cost is higher for bio-linking than it is for humans, in Imperial armor, yes?
Everything has always been more expensive in the form of FP for non-human races. It's like some imperial law or soemthing.

Race does not seem to play a role in Bio-Linking.
I tested this with a Zarbrak Private in the Empire. It cost exactly as much for a Zabrak private Imp to Bio Link as it does for a Rebel Zabrak to Bio-link.

I'm a new AS and I don't want to be all in your face and stuff....but I really believe that 7 odd K of faction to biolink armour is bad, and it should remain an issue.
I sell FP that I earn in space and as I said I'm a AS, so I only stand to make money from this situation. That being said one of the main things the CU was always going to be about was the bringing faction armour to the front, but with these high faction costs to purchase schemas and to bio-link it will put people off.
Maybe the player dosn't want to grind faction in space, maybe they find it unfun and don't like JTL, maybe they're not a master pilot and don't want to be one. Why should this timesink be forced on the casual player?
Not everyone has time to play games 10 hours a day, the casual player is out there and they keep getting timesinks thrust upon them.
I mean come on 7k of faction to wear something thats going to be worthless in 3-4 days....silly.
IMO this should still be on your list of things to address with the powers that be. A reasonable amount of faction would be 1-2k per suit tops, and the AS should be able to do a factory run to reduce the faction costs. Making armour for their faction HELPS their faction, yet the AS has to hand over FP and will then push the cost onto the user who is meant to be fighting for their faction...it makes no sense.
If they need to have faction costs fine but it should be reasonable not bank breaking, not making the game unfun.
Many people's armor only lasts a few days due to the fact that the either grind high level mobs or tank high level mobs currently. Due to this they stand and hack away at one, or several, mobs for several minutes all the while taking a good ammount of damage.
Post-CU would fights will be pretty even and as such we will not be taking the big damage numbers over that period of time which will allow out armor to not 'work' as hard and allow it to last much longer. On TCEP3 Ive fought with my armor for over a week now always figting lvl 75-80 NPCs/Mobs and my armor is still in great shape.
I dont think Faction armor ever will be free and Im not sure it ever should. While it is armor it is also a perk. Personally getting a 13k reduction in a perk is pretty darned good to me. Can it be lower? Sure, should it be lower? I think where it is now is about as low as we can expect and anything different and we start getting into the 'Should it be free' debate. Which is, for some, a valid debate but for me Im more than happy with the 7k cost to bio-link.

Sorry if I implied it should be free at all
I don't think it should be free, I think the Faction cost both to the maker and the user is still too high. I realise theres still other things that are issues and yeah I don't mean to take away from that, or to make the Coro's job any harder than it already is. I'm just saying it should be kept as an issue. The reduction was great, but not enough. Faction armour should be the most readily availible armour there is.
anyway thanks for reading.
