my elemental dmg is 214 stats on saber are 600ish min max dmg is 715

I don't think thats correct. I've tuned about a dozen color crystals(forgot to try sunriders) and the elemental damage is the same on all of them when they go into my saber. It seems to me the amount of elemental damage will always depend on your power crysals and pearls.

I'm in the middleish. I refuse to wear my robe because it looks so... bad. But you better believe I spent my time getting the best possible CA's to socket into my clothes. That I stockpiled the very best saber resourses, nearly a hundred pearls and crystals, and over five dozen holocrons. I want to be the best, but I'm willing to comprimise good for fun. So what if I lose 5% damage? I'm down more dps by not being master saber, or from not taking armor break. The mechanical drawback isn't that big and the enjoyment I get out of not doing it is worth it.

I have more fun being a blue mon cal in my dirty brown smugglers garb with a dark blue saber. And that's what the game is about, having fun. If you get it by having the biggest numbers go nuts. Some people have it by being as imersed in another world as possible. Nothing is wrong with either, but don't get down on others because they choose different from you.

Regular color crystals always give 25% of max damage as elemental damage, special color crystals like Sunriders Destiny and Banes Heart give 30%. 5% on a 600 max dmg is 30 extra elemental damage per hit.

While I think elemental damage will be a welcome addition, I think the fix to improved armor break will be a far greater benefit.

But... even with these fixes, will sabers have enough damage ?. On my server, I can make and sell powerhammers with a max damage of around 1050 for 20k. My saber has a max damage of around 600 and cost around 20 mill to make (with good pearls).

If it costs me 20 mill to make a saber, should it not be at least as powerful as a powerhammer that costs 20k ?

The problem is you cant get jedi xp with your PH, which leaves you with no other choice than to shell out 20 million or hunt for the pearls yourself.

Seriously, a swordsman also has an armorbreak attack I believe, and a MSwords / MDoc is comparable to a MLS / MHealer. Right now those two are balanced pretty well, since the regular professions can dish out more damage, but cant heal as often because of their mind cost. With the nerf to jedi healing, I doubt a jedi will be able to beat a MSwords / MDoc.
Something has to be done with the damage output if the healing ability is nerfed.

i have found that all crystals tune differently...my sunrider crystal adds 202 elemental to my saber ..my friend who has better pearls that me has only 166 on his sunrider crystal. So it is impossible for people to say "this crystal adds 'X' percent to a saber", it all depends on the tune just like pearls.

It was stated by the devs that normal color crystals _always_ add 25% elemental damage and special color crystals add 30%. It does not depend on your pearls alone, it also depends on the max damage of the saber itself and obviously if you have 3 or 4 pearls in the saber.
What is the maximum damage on your lightsaber and your friends lightsaber?

There 's just one thing, that bugs me:

Since elemental damage will now work for every weapon, how much elemental prodection do we get from jedi innate armor???

I got well shafted in the CU conversion. All of my crystals were -9 and either 50/50 or very close to it. When the CU hit my crystals all dropped to about 100 damage and one even converted to 75 damage.


Im stuck with a 474dps saber with 188 banes heart elemental damage and with the pearl drops as they are at the moment there is pretty much nothing I can do about it.

Just tested on my TC Jedi and elemental damage is indeed working. My max hit in PvE before the change was 1011 (x4x4LS with power attack). On TC I'm hitting for 1590, and the combat log clearly shows the elemental damage.


I'm not sure it's entirely fixed yet though because the log showed a flat 30% armor reduction on the elemental damage, whether I used armor break or not.

I read another post on the TC forum (I think) that mentioned that it showed in the combat log but, the extra DMG was not actually subtracted from the health bar. Can anyone confirm or dismiss this?
