Corbantis.Inerva Men'es

I recently finished the dancer theater quest and received the Theatrical dance scoll.

Since I did not have enought XP yet I danced around until I had (about 400030).

I learned the dance.

Result:

CURRENT DANCING XP: -39000 (yes NEGATIVE value)

Doing theatrical gives about 10-15 xp !!! Shouldn't this be higher as well?

/bugged it in game.

The "You are too far away..." bug is back.

My dancer has been stuck in that mode since yesterday afternoon. Relogging doesn't help. No one can watch as she is "too far away"....

Well i don't know if it belong in here, and i don't know if it is a dancer only bug, but my character
is on Gorath , Kosse Eto , who is wearing a revealing fleshwrap and a medalion , is Twilek , female , and danced in various cantinas , and is dancer 3343
My computer always locks up (i have to do a complete reboot) after an uncertain amount of time when i'm dancing and running the a flourish script which is like

/flourish 1;
/pause 10;
/flourish 2;
/pause 5;
/dazzle;
/pause 5;
/flourish 3;

and so on.
i don't have to be afk, it never happens with any other chars i have wether afk or not, and started happening with the latest publish which is 18. before pub18 i would go afk, do some real life stuff , come back and everything would be ok. now i'm dancing 5-45min and the pc locks. once i got a BSOD in windows xp saying KERNEL_INPAGE_FAULT (or similar)
i don't think it's hardware related, but anyways
motherboard: ASUS 600-X
ram: 2x512 infineon 3r 400DDR running at 333mhz (tested for errors with memtest86)
cpu: athlonxp 2600+ barthon @ 333 mhz
gpu: nvidia geforce fx 5900 128mb (manufactured by Leadtec) nontweaked or similar running on factory/driver defaults
winxp pro sp2 with latest fixes installed

the program doesn't recognise it as a crash , so it doesn't send crash reports about it

Canceled until Loot Drops , especially Crystals and Pearls , are fixed

The 2600+ bartons are a couple of years old now. Common symptoms of impending cpu failure include hardware freezes (pressing numlock key doesn't turn on/off the indicator light & you have to reboot) andapplications crashing to desktop. A good indicator is that the problem usually doesn't occur for the first 15-20 minutes after you turn the computer on. In SWG, you'll run into problems with a weak cpu when running a macro or loading into a starport/shuttle. You might want to ask about this in the Tech Support forum.

Ok..now you all know what I do for a living.

The Choreography Teacher, from whom Dancers can receive the scroll for Theatrical 2, is misnamed to mob/creature_names:trainer_dancer (a choreography teacher) as shown in this screenie. This is confusing a lot of Dancers who are looking for the Dancer Trainer in the theaters.

Has this one happened to anyone else? Across my characters, I've gone up the dancer tree eight times and have never seen this.

Lately, it seems as if the system doesn't recognize you as dancing anymore, even though your toon is still skill animating a dance. After some random time, I begin getting system messages that say "You must be dancing in order to perform a flourish" (or something worded very closely to it).

Interestingly enough if you do a /stopd command, it tells you that you are not dancing.

If you just walk, you do not get a "you stop dancing" message.

However, if you just do a /startd (x dance) command (without moving first) you get a system message that says "You cannot begin dancing while skill animating"

This has been going on for the few days on Tarquinas that I've been trying to level up a new dancer.

Do you keep dance animating when you walk? Like, walk, stop, dance animation, walk, stop, dance animation.

If so, that's an old bug that pops up sometimes. You aren't actually in the state of dancing, but you are in the state of animating (caught in some weird loop).

If you don't see yourself animating though, this is something different and new.

Yes, I still see myself as animating.

Usually, when I hear of this happening or witness it, it is when the dancer is holding an instrument and gets bugged when a musician in the group calls a /changeband command. You can also get bugged in the same way if you are attacked while dancing. There may be something else bugging you up. The way to get out of it is to use your up arrow key to move forward a few steps. Then you can move back to where you wish to be and start dancing again. I've seen more dancers in cantinas complaining about this lately and inevitably they're holding an instrument. This leads me to suspect there is a grind macro for musicians going around which repeats a /changeband command to make sure the musician is forcing their highest song. (I've also had a very hard time finding musicians willing to drop to the highest song of the character I'm trying to get some music xp on right now.)

It used to happen to me a lot when:

A) I was on a death world in a player city that was just having general load issues: i.e. vendors take forever to load there, that kind of thing.

B) I was running some kind of spam macro, like a over flo buff macro or spamming tech effects to burn action for a leveling medic/doc.

Usually just walking aroundwill get rid of it on it's own, but doing an emote or traveling to another zone will ditch it if not.

The last time I saw this was on TC when we got Tumble and the other new songs and dance, but it was the Music version. Scip, Sart, Fusch, and a few others were there - maybe they remember what it was. I think it had something to do with giving the start command and then moving too fast.

Related?

I get this bug sometimes too, Tho I am never grouped with a musician, and I Don't even have a Slitherhorn anymore.

It often times happens to me when I am relly lagged, or if I use the game menue to go back to char select then reenter the game. and usually just walking in and our of the cantina gets rid of it.

I found that a good fix for the Music version of the bug was to hit my stopmusic button and then walk a few steps and then startmusic again. It has worked reliably for me. Replacing the music commands with the dance versions may well help you.
