Are we supposed to be able to /register in the cantina on the Wookiee Homeworld? I tried last night and got a system error message.. sorry can't remember the exact wording but it indicated I didn't have the requisite skill or something (I am Master Dancer). Also, is the location supposed to be secret? There's no listing for a cantina on the planetary map and /find indicates it can't find a cantina.

I suspect these aren't bugs but want to be certain.

Flurry.Doriana
Theed Cantina

Entertainer Healing experience continues to be awarded after I have stopped performing.

After dancing and then stopping dancing in the Theed cantina this evening, I continued to be awarded ent healing exp after I was no longer dancing and as I left the cantina and travelled to the starport. The inspiration buff bonus was applied to the extra exp and the exp accrued when the performers in the group gained exp. I stopped gaining the exp when I shuttled out of the city and into Rori.

Ok, this is bugging me more the longer it goes unfixed because it's gotta be just a simple database reference or something, and it was one of the first things I reported back in beta... The /flourish icons are mixed up. 1 and 2 are swapped. I think 4 and 5 are swapped. 3 is correct, but I think there's another error in 6, 7, and 8 (I'm not sure which ones are supposed to be which).

Per Standard Notation, the icons assigned to flourishes 1-8 represent the following:

1 = 2 8th notes
2 = 1 8th note
3 = 2 16th notesand 1 8th note
4 = 1 16th note
5 = 4 16th notes
6 = 1 dotted 8th and 1 16th note
7 = 1 16th note, 1 8th note and 1 16th note
8 = 1 dotted quarter note

I think it is safe to say that the images for the icons were chosen for their appearance, with no regard for what they represent in musical notation.

If I were designing them, I would probably go with the following:

1 = whole note
2 = half note
3 = dotted quarter note (or quarter note + 8th note)
4 = quarter note
5 = dotted 8th note (or 8th note + 16th note)
6 = 8th note
7 = dotted 16th note (or 16th note + 32nd note)
8 = 16th note

Although, someone would likely look at #1 and ask "how come it's just an O?". So, as much as it truly irks the musician in me, I think we might ought to just disregard any perceived incongruities with reality and go with the pretty pictures we've been given.

Dancer profession bugs: (reported 5/17/05)

  • Some players do not receive the pop-up window when they have qualified to learn Theatrical 2. If they try to speak to the Choreographer, she tells them that they need to practice more. CSRs have told them that they cannot be reset for this.
  • Players experience a 10% higher loss in xp (in cases where xp loss would occur) while inspired.
  • Dancers continue to gain heal xp after they have stopped dancing, if they are a member of a group where another entertainer is providing an inspiration to a player.
  • Players get the message "you are too far away" when trying to watch a dancer or listen to a musician.
  • Some players are still reporting that the Inspiration buffs are not giving xp bonus for all skills.
  • Dancers are unable to /register at the Myyydril cave cantina.
  • Infrequently, one player will stop watching and the dancer will stop gaining heal xp (while multiple players are watching). When another player starts watching, the "missing" heal xp will be given in a single tick. If the dancer logs out orloses connectionbefore being watched again, the "missing" heal xp is lost.
  • Level 1 players are unable to receive a full page (per refresh) of delivery missions at Faction Terminals without grouping with higher level players. If the level 1 player is grouped with higher level players, they get the normal selection per refresh for delivery missions. This was not the case pre-CU.

Players get the message "you are too far away" when trying to watch a dancer or listen to a musician.

This may be totally unrelated but... After seeing several references to character height differences between an entertainer and the customer trying to watch or listen (and with or without titles on or off adding to the camera's calculation of char height...

They changed the camera view againtoday. I did not alter any of my camera angle settings since yesterday and today. However, it has been annoying me a lot since the CU went live, that my camera angles were not the same as they were before. Before CU, when I zoomed in on my char, it wouldcenter on the back of her head. Post CU it would zoom over the top of her head. By quite a lot as she is at minimum height for a human. On my other char, aTwi'lek at maximum height, the camerawould zoom in about mid-chest level. This affected viewpoint while mountedoron a vehicle too.

As my short human is also a master ID, I messed around with the camera view and char heights. Short, camera zoomed overhead. Tall, camera zoomed in at chest level. Medium, camera zoomed in at head level. (Pre CU camera lock setting) Today, after the servers came back up, I noticed the camera view is back to original. Head level lock. Even on my shortest character.

Now I do not know if camera angle and height differences between watcher and watched is relevant to the "too far away" bug at all. Just thought I'd mention it as a possible factor in the equation.

Edit: Just discovered this. Camera angle was at head zoom in level when I logged in today. I took a trip to Kashyyyk. Upon landing my camera angle was altered to zooming in way over my head (on short char). When I arrived back on Tatooine, it was still stuck in "ship camera angle view." After I took a shuttle, it changed back again to head level view.

Is it possible this or something related is affecting the too far away bug?

Server.Character Name: Corbantis.Qilue

Bug: When Inspired the game appears to tell you you are getting a bonus of 10% when you are actually only getting the 5% bonus

Details: While Dancing to inspire my group I was reiceving 50 points of Dancing Exp. when I used /stopwatch to gain Insperation Experience the system wastelling me

"You Recieve 52 points of Dancing Experience (5 Bonus Experience)"

5 points would be a 10% gain to a 50 Point Base (thus 55 Points Earned not 52).. The system should be telling me I recieved a 2 Bonus Experience

This is not a bug, but rather the result of your base xp being lowered because you have one less watcher (yourself). Each watcher adds an amount to your base xp, including yourself.

To test this, go outside (where you can't self-inspire) and compare xp when dancing normally, and when dancing after doing a /stopwatch. (You should notice a difference whether or not you are inspired). Below are my system messages (With the commands I did in this color.) from a test I did outside, while inspired - another 40 minutes from now I'll be able to test while uninspired.

/startdance exotic4
You begin dancing.
/flourish 1
You perform a flourish.
You receive 48 points of Dancing experience.(4 bonus experience)
/stopwatch
You stop watching.
/flourish 1
You perform a flourish.
You receive 46 points of Dancing experience.(4 bonus experience)
/stopdance
You stop dancing.
You stop dancing.

Got my results for uninspired dancing:

/startdance exotic4
You begin dancing.
/flourish 1
You perform a flourish.
You receive 44 points of Dancing experience.
/stopwatch
You stop watching.
/flourish 1
You perform a flourish.
You receive 42 points of Dancing experience.
/stopdance
You stop dancing.
You stop dancing.

So this makes it clear that inspirations aren't the cause of the lowered xp. And the explanation of having one less watcher bonus makes sense, though this of course doesn't prove it, other than being consistent with the hypothesis.

I see you are right...

But... is the insperation 0% or 5%? Because a Bonus of 5 at 5-60 xp is still 10%

It appears to have stayed at 10%, despite that one patch note that said it was going to 5%.
