I would not be surprised if the Mandalorian Armor was not the same as the Fett Armor . The devs are sneaky like that THere are screenshots somewhere, but i haven't seen them. I did see a SS of a jetpack in use...very cool, and it looked like the guy had Fett-like armor.

From what I've seen, the Mandalorian armor looks like Jango's armor (with more strongly reinforced shoulder pads) rather than Boba's.

The Funny armor that looks like a RIS/Mandalorian Hybrid you see on some BH trainers is the Bounty Hunter Armor needed for the crafting of Mandalorian Armor.

Basically, with a full suit of the Mandalorian, you should look like the Death Watch guys you see.

I think its pretty sweet we're getting Mandolorian Armor.

I know for many of the Ranger/Rifleman or CH types you'd rather see your avatar in a ghuilie suit, but thats the great thing about Ranger, while its a very specific set of skills to have it does leave open the possibility for very different combat professions and doesn't pigeon hole the idea of what the "typical" ranger should be.

As a Swordsman/Ranger I think the Mandolorian armor will be perfect and I can't wait to see me Avatar in it.

I do feel your concerns though, I hope this isn't just another cookie to keep us busy while our hardcore issues are still ignored.

On second thought, thats probably exactly what it is, but oh well try and enjoy it for at least a little while.

Crap.

Now I have to decide between a full suit of mandalorian armor, or my +15 camo jacket/shirt/pants/boots/braclet/gloves/belt/hat

I'm quite happy about this, I will wait for the initial "full set @ 2mil" spamming the starport rush to calm down then get myself all togged out and go do some strutting.

It "may" not be totally Ranger, it "may" not be of any real value or use but it will be a bit of variety for me.

Let the posing commence.

Oh, one more thing, as a Pistoleer apparently getting duel wield, I'll indeed look the coolest of the cool. Wonder how I'll use the banking terminal with a gun in each hand..?

My personal suspicion why those professions have been picked :

The cert will be in the master box, it's any easy way to make this armor 'rare' if the cert is placed in rare masterboxes.

Master Squadleaders and Master Rangers are *really* rare, and the bountyhunters actually going master are also very rare (most 'bountyhunters' are actually - not necessarily master - pistoleers dabbling in bh). Also, "Master Commando"s are definitly 'around' but still not overly common, here also you will find mostly people dabbling here and there (pistoleers with maybe the smuggler's dirty fighting for last ditch that picked up a small amount from commando to use the flamer and the launcherpistol are a quite common setup).

Don't expect to see a lot of suits available anyway. The Bunker has been on Test for a couple of weeks now and we still havn't made a single piece(there is a group trying this weekend). The armor takes a ton of effort to actually make(as well as having a Master AS, DE, and Tailor willing to risk their lives in the Bunker itself to assemble.)

Add into all that the BH armor pieces you need to make it, while time consuming to obtain, average 30%(but go all the way up to 90%! although only one piece has been seen with 90% so far) base resistance effectiveness to everything but Stun, Heat, and Acid and has incredibly low encumbrance. This BH armor can currently be worn by anyone making it, with effectiveness slices, into pretty much the ultimate PvE armor anyway(90% kinetic resists with a 40% smuggler slice is kind of silly O.o ). These numbers may change, but unless mandalorian armor adds something really special, it is going to be mostly just for looks and most people are going to be unwilling to give up their looted BH armor pieces.

We'll see once the test center group actually makes the stuff, but these suits of armor are not going to be common at all.

Immersion (and thereby players' concerns about immersion) would dictate that regardless of certifications the armor is extremely rare. If the devs adhere to that, this will be an empty bonus to the vast majority of Rangers. I dearly hope that "we gave them Mandalorian armor" does not ever become a dev justification for not making other improvements to the profession. Plus, even assuming any given ranger did manage to acquire it, there are still a number of questions: Does the cert come at novice or master? Will its HAM costs mandate doc buffs just to walk around in it? Personally, I think this cert does fit our profession conceptually, but I don't see it having much real effect on actual gameplay for the majority of rangers.

Well, I know that I will try and get myself a set. Even if I know that I won't get it (I've been trying for many months to get the RIS components and I don't even have enough for one piece). And realize that this probablyisn't the Boba Fett Mandalorian. If you want to see what it will look like, find a BH trainer in armor that you don't recognize or go to the Wayfar cantina and look at the Corvette NPC. That should be the Death Watch armor and the Mandalorian should be a modified version of that. Although maybe they will let us look like Boba Fett.

That is Bounty Hunter armor. A component in Mandalorian. And no, the real stuff doesn't look like Boba Fett. It looks like Jango Fett's. Boba's was old, worn down, and missing pieces.

I, too, would like to see the cert for this in the Master's box. I wonder if doing something similar to this for other equipment would stop some people from dabbling as much? You want mandalorian? You get mast in one of those proffs. You certainly won't be dablling in that profession again. You'll go full fledged baby!

For one im very excited ranger was included in the certs for mando and coupled with the combat balance hints i think we could see us moving away from an ONLY creature centric profession.

In regards the quote i personally cant wait to get in there and work for it. I have soem very close friends who just happen to be a Master AS, a Master DE and a Master Tailor. All of which will have there 80%/90% comp on with super buffs and their own master doc escort .

Ill get it just may take some time. Its the same thing with RIS. I have all the components ready apart from scales. And im hunting those atm. 6 down = no scales.

Just to warn you on the scales, I've heard that only wild spawns have them. I'm not sure this is true but do be careful if you are just camping the static one (I don't think it is true but I have been told this and haven't seen otherwise yet).

Yeah i was very concerned about this when i first heard it however someone in the trade forums for my galaxies stated he got his scale he was auctioning from the static one so that gave me hope.

I will still hunt for the others though just in case he was lying.

Omg im so hyped about mando armour though, just hope they dont make the mistake of putting it at novice boxes.

That's rather optimistic. I expect the first sets to sell for like 10+ million.

The sad thing is someone will pay that.
