I dont understand why every non wookie species is whinning about this armor and that they need to take the ham benafits away. Lets just take a quick look at something here. Well go in alphabetacal order for everyone out there. Bothan aight not much here you say k well what about there nice action area with high quickness and there camo makes it nice with ranger is it fair that they have and advantage over other rangers? Ok next on Bothans r lookin kinda sad Human personal fav here lets play a game to be humans ok there buddy ur money ur time whatever on words bonus to artisan crafting oh thats nice dont say it isnt ether there r some components in there that other classes dont need its a benifit to you dont waste it or how about you have a bonus in every Ham pool stop whinning. Next Mon Calamari how do these things fit those darn helmets on there head if i give my helmet to one of these things y doesnt it stretch out and i can never wear it again?. Same with Bothans y dont there noses stretch out the helmets beyond belief? k continue with the fish ya nice to know that if i want to go into weapon crafting i better not put my shop on the same planet. Rodian higher then norm action nice stamina to give you that good recovery weapons crafting bonus and you get meele bonuses. Trandoshan ya ok they can wear every thing but the boots but dont wory they have recovery to make up for that health bonuses and you might as well go unarmed while your at it with those bonuses. Twi'lekaight hittin anouther weak race in here but you get your bonuses to entertainer. Next the lovely Wookie nice benifits not the highest in some areas mainly scout bonuses um last i checked you usualy need a combat class to go with scout warcry bonus aight that would be nice if a gubber couldnt take me out. Zabrak my current race of choice till wookies get the armor nice health action bonus no secoundarie ones though hey heres on in willpower sweet look at the abilitys thats where we make up for defenses and vitalize and equil useless my butt there useless aight so u only get to use them every hour that is a lil drastic but hey its nice to be able to give an extra 50 to Ham in the mid of battle then to heal your mind nice to have when you got a nasty poision on the mind. Now there are all the classes some say look at mine it doesnt have that many benifit and niether does mine well lets read the backgrounds and im not doin each one just kinda skim wookie mentions berserkers several times yet a Twi'lek which slave is mentioned along with entertainer can beat us becuase they can wear full comp ok i gotta play the game more and stop goin to these boards.

Definitely not the same artist as for the other types of armor...

Let me guess: they outsourced the art jobs to India.

Looks like the guy who designed this armor is the same one who did the Padded Armor Helmet....Ack!!

but remember, from what it sounded like, this is just the first of a few sets of armor coming for wookies so don't expect it to be wookie composite.

I agree it looks funny. Kind of like he is wearing a wooden keg around his middle. The torso looks too round for the gangly arms poking out the sides. And I wonder how he sees out of that helmet? Looks like it is about to snap shut on him.

But at least you are getting something. <shrugs>

I laughed hard when I first saw the concept art for the armor...

Then I started to look at with a Designers eye (yeah I havea Design degree)... It fits with the concept arts that are presented in the Art work book that comes in the Special edition of the game...so it has grown on me... (Ugh sorry about the pun )

Fits right a longside the wookiees art and the concept for some of the clothing...

I do suspect woods are going to be one of the key features of this armor... I would also hope that it gets a nice color pallet to work from.. Becasue personally the Wookiee Clothing Colors are kind of Fugly if done wrong... I do agree if it was done in Red and Blacks not the Tan that it was it would look sweet...

The main issue now is not the look but the resouces and the stat averages... What kind of layers can it take is this the Bone Armor or is the The High end armor... Is it going to be wookiee only craftable or all people going to be able to craft it... those are now my questions

Noooo! This is horrible, for one this goes against all star wars continuity, wookiees didn't wear armor because it goes against their rigid system of honor. Any wookiee caught wearing armor would be banished from his/her clan for good, it's as bad as wookiees using their claws in HtH combat against another sentient.

Andargument two, they could have just altered the tailor schematics for wookie clothes to accept special tissues made by bio engineers. Even though I believe whole heartedly that all B.E. tissues should have better skill/stat bonuses, it would have been better to allow wookiees a unique type of clothing that offers the same kind of protection as armor rather than simply tossing star wars storyline integrity to the wind.

Still need more reasoning? This will be the feather that broke the back of the tailor/B.E. hybrid, armorsmiths already make more money from one suit than a Tailor/Tissue engineer can in an entire batch. If wookiees, the last holdout for the Tailor customer base, go to the armorsmith all hope for making a profit off biomod clothing will be nil.Tailor is still broken and allSOE can do is make new features for functioning classes. I'd be overjoyed if they made a few new schematics for B.E. tissues and implemented some form of Tailor experimentation to compliment the new schematics, I don't care if clothing would be 1/4 as effective as armor. At least we'd have something to sell that adds aesthetics to ones character, as well as functionality.

Any other tissue engineers or tailors feel the same? I know we're a minority, but we can't be silent too!

I'm going to stop before I get really O.T.

Hey Jay,

Don't really see you point. With dozens of jedi running around do you really think that wookie armor is that bad? I hear people complain about jedi wearing armor, but the game practially demands you wear it if you PvP and some high end PvE. Although I don't believe throwing continuity out the window is good, I do believe that the way the game is structured at this point, wookies really need armor more than they need continuity.

And I don't see how this will hurt BE's or Tailors all that much. Wookies are a small part of the community (because they lack armor and can't compete because of this) so they probably are a small part of your business. and with the addition of armor more players may take up wookies. Not everyone runs around in their armor all the time even if they could. And that will probably be the same for wookies so they will still need BE enhanced wookie items or tailor clothing. And get the devs to fix your classes instead of asking wookie players to continue to sacrifice themselves for you pocket book.

I agree that armorsmiths make way too much money compared to tailors or anyone else for that matter, but don't ask for a nerf out of anger, ask for improvements to tailor and BE to help them compete. Since I can still wear a BE enhanced shirt under my armor, try getting the devs to improve BE enhancements on other items like jackets and pants that cannot be worn under armor. Give players a reason to wear your items instead of armor.

Myintention was not to imply that armorsmiths should be nerfed, and I don't expect too much sympathy on this board. My point was simply showing how the game could be improved, and hopefully bringing my ideas to new readers. I feel that the developers are looking for the quickest and easiest fixes to the biggest problems at this time, that is why there isn't an utterance about fixing/enhancing all 50 or so clothing schematics in the tailor tree as well as the experimentation system and biotissues to go with them.

And I've already done [url=http://forums.station.sony.com/swg/board/message?board.id=tailor&message.id=30205my part[/url] inthe fight for clothing enhancements, the problem isit seemsonly a fewtailors seem to care.

I like the look..very organic...something a wookie would wear. It has a bone-armor tint to it, and i hope it can be made multiple colors.....just not black or bright red, otherwise, thats all peeps will wear.
