The upcoming changes will be creating a special "lightsaber" damage type which currently does not exist. The same upcoming changes, to my knowledge per the Friday Feature, will render all armor types vulnerable to lightsaber damage. If this has changed and I missed the info, then it's possible RIS armor will be granted lightsaber resistance. But I stand by my determination that your information is erroneous.

CURRENTLY, all armor except Bone Armor not made with looted components, has resistance to kinetic lightsaber attacks. So the upcoming changes to RIS armor may well make it, or keep it, resistant to CURRENT lightsaber damage, kinetic, which is being changed in the same upcoming chages to a type that all armor will be vulnerable to.

Few points..

First.. if you're on Tarquinas stop by Ralf's Armor Shop and take a look at my Set. Been on display Since Early March (the day before the "Great Nerf" that was backed out the very next day... )I wanted to get my set done since rumors would crafting would completely be terrible from that day forward (who knew it would improve nearly every item I crafted by 8-10%, only to have it backed out since it hurt new smiths).. but I digress..

Second, the stats can be excellent. Using the Interwoven it is quite possilbe (and has been done by several) to hit 80% all stats unsliced. Personally on my set most of my items are not interwoven but still range (by usage on specific pieces) from 65-79% kenetic and 50-65% base with HAM down around the level of Ubese. Using excellent resources and top end NS layers and shards (don't bother with RIS ones) you can hit exceptional stats with this armor, but it isn't easy to do and you still have to be a highly skilled armorsmth to do it.

Third, it was stated in the Friday Feature that all armor besides PSG will be vulnerable to Lightsaber armor (Not specified that RIS wouldn't be, but certainly implied.) It was posted that the current RIS on TestCenter does display a vulnerability to LS damage. Personaly I thought I had put the dev comments and other pieces together that pretty clearly showed RIS would not be Lightsaber vulnerable, including a response to one of our "19 answers" post this month about how hard RIS (specifically GDK Scales)were to get.Because the various changes since launch, it certainly doesn’t seem that RIS is epic armor, but after the combat balance, all of these details will make more sense." There are obvioualy a lot of things that this could potentially mean, but right now.. it doesn't mean much.

4. They take a very very long time to get since they are very rare and heavily camped and the components can sell for 500k-1mil each easily. true, with giant dune kimo scales going for 3-6 mill easy

RIS is rare, hard to make, but can be mighty fine if done right
