Hi there and I gave up ranger then went and did it again lol....my bad.

THE point of this....is that rangers are supposed to get terrain bonuses and we don't when we carry a weapon...we are just like eveyrone else and that stinks. We should be able to take those hills and especially FLAT land at better than normal speed not LESS than normal speed carrying a weapon..any weapon. We certainly pay for that privelege.

The most important lesson people need to know about CSRs is that unless you are stuck or have had an item deleted/lost (even then its debatable) they are useless. A CSR agreeing with you on something like this only proves they don't even know the game they are representing.

Then why don't we just have one big forum to discuss everything?

has been done elsewhere. has drawbacks, as does havingmultiple forums where you can't possibly keep up, and where some forums are seldom if ever updated. it was someone else's decision. but that is unlikely to change at this point, no?

it would be silly to think that issues don't bleed over. and it should be casual enough that it really does not matter. we are talking about a game, not world peace. so no one is harmed if the topic shifts duringa thread. plus, when a thread has a dev response, people naturally want to get their issue in front of a dev, and so many of those threads meander, as would seem normal and appropriate.

for instance, discussing which forum an issue should be on is not really an armorsmith issue, and should probably be on one of the core systems boards? but it is probably just as cool to discuss it here.

Ok, Im a little grumpy about this, and with just cause. I am a master Rifleman, and 1/3/1/4 Smuggler, so as you can tell, I wear recon armor. Now, I have a stat capped piece of UBESE armor, which can be seen in this picture: Helmet Now, as you can see in the picture, it is a very nice helmet, so I am obviously going to wear it, but you can also see I have hinderances with it. HMM??? With my professions I should have the amount of mitigration as follows: Accuracy: 10%+10%+30%+40% Movement: 10%+10%+20% Rate of Fire: 30%+30%+40%+60% Now, I dont believe that makes sense. From my understanding, the entire point of mitigration is to counter-act the hinderance of armor. Sooooooo, what is the point of mitigration if it does not do that????? So I filled a ticket. A CSR replied, and here is the conversation: CSR Agrees

Here I am, taking it to the forums, I hope that someone can explain why mitigration does nothing when it is supposed to do something. Or better yet, devs, you could fix it. Thanks for your time everyone.

Ok where are the clickies,a or at least the stats on the armor?

you see, the problem here, as is often the case, is that THERE IS NO INSTRUCTION MANUAL FOR THIS GAME. most of what we know about how the game actually functions is due to the almost heroic efforts of some players to document functional parameters. even then, we are often uncertain as to whether systems are functioning "as intended."

players should not have to write their own manual. this game was totally redone in april of this year, and we deserve an up-to-date set of instructions and information as to how the systems we use in-game are intended to function.

no update or patch is finished until the documentation for the game is updated to reflect a change. i hope you will finish the curb and rotw before you add another expansion.

ah, the acrobat file.ithas no information about how the game is supposed to function. for example, under the topic of "ending combat" it suggests that you burst run. this hardly qualifies as helpful, and is pretty typical.

there is no information on armor, encumberance mitigation, special attacks, foods and how they work... this is not an instruction manual, it is a start-up guide for new players. it does not document any update or expansion information. it is an instruction manual in name only.

the holo help is pretty useless in most instances, too. and when there is information it is often outdated or just plain incorrect.

The first warning light that something was wrong... Should have been when you actually got a response from a CSR. THe second and Biggest warning light should have been the CSR agreeing with you... CSR's do not agree with anyone there is only one canned response on their list.... "Sorry, we are unable to do anything to help you with ............" <--- Fill in the blank....

Mitigations do not stack, the highest one you have is the one used to calculate Hindrances.

The system was left open ended enough so that if players choose to alter the armor too much they could, but it would cost them Hindrances. It forces people to think if that extra few % of protection is worth moving a bit slower.

Yeah, cool. Thanks for taking away my armor experimentation Chapstick so it could be "open ended" by shifting it all to the combat master box.
