I don't think anyone discounts how difficult and expensive it is to put together an experimentation suit. A lot of us have been at this for a year or more. Like my pal Elood, getting a +12 suit for myself was a six month long struggle.

The threads you had created were not constructive and served as nothing more than a tiny soapbox for you to try and prop yourself up on. They wereharrassing and incited flaming, which is against the forum rules. They deserved to be deleted.

Until very shortly I too was a 10 pointer, and I can get 71 base easy, so, yes 10 points can easily be competitive. And responding to every post Oa makes and flaming him is harrasment in my book.

Extra experimentation points help a bit on a few types of armor, mainly anything with stun. Also helps a ton with resists on RIS. But yeah you can definitely do a ton without it.

One thing worth adding is that even if you do factory runs as a starting smith, it's better to do small runs, as your resources, recipes for parts, and skilltapes will be improving continuously. I tried to do small runs and I'm still stuck with 100s of layers and segments that are outdated or not suited for what I want to make.

The simple facts of exp points are as follows.
1 - You can compete in the market as a 10pt smith.
2 - Your resource collection is by far more important than being a 12pt smith.
3 - as a 12pt smith you can ALWAYS craft better armor than your 10pt competition(assuming same resources).
most of your customer base will focus mainly on the base resistance, and pays little attention to hams/condition as long as they are reasonable. Any good 10pt smith will be able to max out their Base Resistances, but a 12pt smith will be able to either increase condition or decrease hams in addition to maxing the base %. With the current state of buffs, having slightly higher hams is negligable at best, however with the CU on the horizon we may see more noticeable differences on how the overall hams effect us.
There is clearly a market for slightly less expensive 10pt smiths if your interested in competing in the open market the true key is your resources. however without those extra exp points you will only ever be able to match 1 of the 3 categories of your 12pt counterparts(base/ham/cond). If you are a 10pt smith I would suggest concentrating on Base primarily.

-A large number of Mineral Mines
-A couple Chemical Extractors
-Some place to store all your resources, components, and everything in general
-Wearables factories, the busier you get, the more you’ll need.
A couple of questions, I am a MAS, but I will admit I am a noob as an AS. I was MD before CU, but with my toon being an alt and used in a support role (healing, buffing, teaching) rather than in a direct combat role, I have respec'd this account to MAS.
Now these mines and extractors, are they medium (BER 10) or large (BER 13)?
Also what are the wearables factories for? I know you mentioned picking novice tailor (which I already have for Master Chef) to make the fiberplast panels and other components. Is this for the fiberplast panels? Or is this where you actually make you factory runs of components (i.e. biceps, bracers, chest plates, etc...)?
I am doing more research, but like I said I am a noob, yet still a master, bless the CU/respec, lol!
