Thread: 400/400/600 Composite Possible?
Good point.
You can make 3 runs of the same layers (different schematic)and use a layer from each run in the segment. That will make it possible to do 1000 segments in one run....ie. 47 suits.
I hope people that wonder why vendors aren't always stocked with comp are reading this thread...![]()
Don't take this the wrong way Destrkta, but you really need to throw a few periods and commas in there; hitting Enter a few times probably wouldn't hurt, either.
Regarding the krayt scales I have, I was planning on throwing them into ubese, to make a suit of no-vulnerability armor, but I doubt I will. It's overkill when I'm just trying to make a suit of unbuffed wearable armor with no vulnerabilities (or at least, just stun). As far as number of armors we can run... using 4 adv segments for the chest, we would need 400 segments made. Not a problem. We plan to make a separateruns (i.e. serial numbers)of segments for the armor pieces. In fact, the name will be aCAS -head/chest (this will be a 700 run + experimenting extras), and aCAS -left arm, etc. We'll be able to have shematics and segments to run 100 of each piece, no problem. We're not planning on repeating this task in the near future, so we're getting it right the first time.
What you should do is get Krayt Scale enhanced Mabari Armor. It's only 5 pieces with 1 seg each, so you only need 5 scales. Then, you get some Composite Biceps and you're good to go. That's what I do and the encumb is nothing... It would be less than half of what you can take and it would cut all damage in half except Stun.
Then take a Pixie with you and some Brandy and you'll never have worries of getting killed while riding through camps of aggros.

LOL! I don't care about the quality, just the lowest freaking HAM possible! It's okay though, I can see that this is getting within striking distance. I actually found out that my friend has like 90+ krayt scales in his storage house, so I'm thinking about making a suit of stun-layered krayt-ubese. But since the condition on composite is still so much higher, I'm not abandoning the idea of the composite.
Through his guild we're going to have access to nearly limitless supplies of the top-end resources, with which to make guild armor crates. Tri-Stun Layered Composite Suits, and Tri-Kinetic Layered Suits (for PvP and PvE, respectively), making crates and crates of them. I'll see just how low I can get my suit of composite (preferably with a stun layer to kill the vulnerability) and post the results.
krayt composite segments have no ham, so your armor will be low ham. which is what you wanted
krayt scales will add protection and change it to special, ie it will not be effected by effective slice. also it adds alot of ham.
Since when have scales added HAM? Never have in my experiences...

Someone else mentioned this earlier, but let me add detail to why it's a good choice.
1) enc is around 100/100/100 or so, very, very light.
2) with a Krayt scale, your only vul will be stun. true, some of your protections will be down to 4-8%, depending on the quality of the scales you get, but you still get the base 50% for AR1
3) 5 pieces to juggle, instead of 9. Save a little on inventory space.
this is a good consideration for support classes, who aren't in combat if they can help it, or for a casual armor, providing enough protection for you to get your rear out of the line of fire.
