I'm taking the liberty of posting one of my finest moments. I didn't even have to wear my tag to get this:
I'm an armoursmith/chef. I ran two shops in neighbouring houses. I also sell quite a lot of items on the bestine bazaar. When I make a sale on the global bazaar, I used to send the customer an email thanking them for their purchase and I included waypoints to my two shops, explaining which shop has what. I probably sent 10 of these a day. Normally people were either happy to get them or ignore them. Either of which was fine. I'd given them a chance to talk to me and to put anything that may have been wrong right. Here is a conversation I had with one customer. (No I will not disclose his name):
Customer: "???"
I don't even have time to type a reply, but it would have been something like "Yes, how can I help you?"
Customer: "You (insert-bad-word-that-you-wouldn't-use-in-front-of-a-nun) lamer!"
Me: "I'm sorry, but I have no idea why you are angry with me!"
Customer: "There is no armour in your shop!!!!"
Me: "Are you sure you are in the right one? As I explained in my email, there are two shops, the armour is at "Aph's Armoury"
Customer "Ok"
Me: "Do you think maybe you owe me an apology"
Customer: "k.sry
"
Me: "I think you mean: I really apologise for insulting you for no reason other than my own stupidity and inability to read"
Pause
Pause
Pause
Customer: "Can u make special price for me?"
I no longer send emails to bestine customer.

Infinity.

I seem to always talk to people who have a "friend" who will only charge half of what I am.
'how much for some 80% kinetic composite'
'160K'
'why so much?'
'materials are expensive'
'My friend only charges 100K'
'Go buy from your friend'
Invariably I get one of 2 scenarios.. every time.
1) 'have a vendor wp?'
2) *email* You have sold 80% kinetic suit to (name) for 160K

I agree with Tess, Kett dosen't seem to have nearly the amount of wackos that some servers do. Maybe the "recommended RP galaxy" thing scared away the "L33T" and power gamers. Almost all of the tells I get are intelligent questions or requests. I run a small shop on tat and relie mostly on word of mouth and planet map advertising for my sales, so that probably helps cut down on the mindless chatter.
I used to get the occational "I want 90% unsliced for 100k" bit, but I haven't got that in a bit.

tess is begining to sound like a good idea. chimera seesm to be filling up with fashion victims. was doing some squilling just for fun last night and one of my group, novice marksman was asking armour questions which i was happy to answer. Wanted comp that he could wear without buffs, dooable but dont expect a huge stun resists. pricing came into the discussion and as you'd expect comp clearly wasnt an option. I recomended some high quality mabarii or some average ubese, after all he wasn't tanking or hitting hard enough to get aggroed. He said he wasnt interested as he didnt want to look like a noob.
erm ok.
I dont wear comp if i can avoid it, tend to wear mabarii or a tantel/ubese mixbecause its good enough for hunting most of the things I tangle with and I dont want to look like a clone. Apparently I'm in a minority though.
gotta tell you though folks, i dont judge you by your armour. If someones posturing im gonna examine, check those badges and look at the weapon in your hand. If your in full comp with a cdef dont expect any respect.

I'm gonna be adventurous. I'll sport my master tag, while decked out in full RIS gear, outside theCoronetstarport (as soon as I craft the 2 remaining pieces). I wonder how many /tells I'll get

Can I buy your RIS?
What the hell is that you're wearing
Mak me sum ris!
How do you make RIS?
Can you tell me everything needed to make RIS?
Dude, I want your armor.

Is that comp?
E-mail me info about RIS now
Send me mail with RIS resources
How much for RIS?
Is it hard to make?
etc. etc.

Am I the only one thats gotten asked for things i don't make. I've been asked to make a fwg, a harvester, a cloak, and a med house, lol. However when i do run my master title I usually don't get many tells, or if i do their people wanting to know where my shop is, so i point them to it get a thanks reply and and get money in my bank. Guess im just lucky.
