Thread: Options Come May 5th...
I will remind you that making accusations like that, especially ones involving the breaking of major rules, is a no no. You don't like AFK grinding then we are in the same boat. But thank you for assuming I used such a means to master Chef. It was so nice of you. I mastered CH dude, the most horifically hard grind next to wilderness survival, do you really think I am that lazy?

I could go on and on but the first two parapgraphs have done what they were meant to and siphoned out the people who only want to flame. Those type would never read this far, just start flaming about what I said. The simple fact is that no matter how much it sucks for you, you still need to face the fact that the crafting professions needed a serious nerfing. If for nothing else than to end this wasteful cycle of: AFK grind your way to master AS AFk grinding a crafting profession requires 3rd party software which is against the EULA ...are you confessing to the method by which you mastered chef? i for one did not use this method for getting MWS, why do you assume all elite crafters from this profession did?
......
all of our professions have needed love over the last 2 years...the changes in experimentation do not only affect AS but ALL crafters and therefore what happens on this board is of great concern to many people. the individual issues of ranger, smuggler, and yes, even CH, among the lesser dev loved prof's did not overtly affect others. attempting to throw this in the faces of crafters is supremely unfair.
CH will likely be one of the FOTM prof's after CU btw....and smuggler? well we get to wait even longer for a revamp that was promised a month after launch.

Still angry huh? This has nothing to do with CH. So stop trying to make it out as me coming over to say CH deserves it more than AS. I came to join in the discussion of what is happening to AS. Since this is an AS board I am in the right place. And you made an accusation in the form of a question that was obviously designed to imply that I used a 3rd party program to get my master in Chef. That is an attempt to incite confilct, which is the plain straight-forward definition of a flame. I am not threatening you, I am just remiinding you that you were being a little overboard on it. The discussion at hand had nothing to do with me personally or my CH profession. You attempted to interject these as critical issues within the discussion. Which of course means you tried to make a personal attack on me. Again this is not allowed.
If you didn't mean it to come across as such then no problem. If you did mean it as such then you were in violation of the CoC. I just wanted you to notice that it may have come across that way.
angry at being threatened...yes absolutely. if you think someone is in violation of the rules, just use report, don't threaten me with it.
as for the whole afk grinding thing, again i remind you that you brought it up. it was your sentence, not mine. i asked a question to clarify your purpose in bringing it up and your response is to threaten me. if you want intelligent and fair discussion, don't accuse or threaten others. very simple.

im sorry but just because everyone wears armor now and not everyone has a creature, cantrack, or whateverdoesnt make us less important then you. and by that i also dont mean we are more important then you. every profession deserves attention and to run properly. But just because something doesnt effect a large population doesnt mean those professions are not important. i pay the same amount of money every month that you do.
your statement is actually in agreement with mine...only mine is slightly out of context. what am i trying to say in response to someone else bringing up CH is that although many of our professions have been in need of help, unless it is something that does affect multiple professions other players are either unconcerned because it doesn't affect them or they are completely unaware of what has happened.
this is especially true of the nerfing of CH because that took place so long ago, many players don't even remember the days when everyone did have mounts and cowardly gurrecks.
i did not intend for this to mean i think the problems of other professions are unimportant orto downgrade those problems but rather highlight the difference in scope and how the player base as a whole is likely to respond accordingly. attempting to make other players feel guilty for not knowing what is going on with other professions is unfair. telling them about those problems is not.

There is so much irony ringing in my headsince my coming in here and watching the complaints of the AS's pre-CU. And I must admit I am torn. Torn between sincere empathy for your position and total lack of empathy because of your lack of care forother professions positions. Here you all sit angry and troubled that you no longer will be uber and unmatched money earners and yet when CH's were nerfed almost to death no one cried for us. But still I have to feel for you, having everything you worked to gather(or everything you used a macro program to "earn") taken from you. Mostly this bothers me because I know too damn well how long you will wait before the "updates" they promise you to help rebalance you after rebalancing you are going to take. (that sentence confused me too)
Alas I still fight back to thinking about how AS' have with impunity helped destroy the economy of many servers. While not at all your faults and certainly not by your design it was still because of you that they fell into where they are now. (all crafters, even my chef profession shares this guilt) And then again I feel sorry for you since you have to live in the world designed for you. As such it was not your actions that destroyed the economy but SOE's lack of thought in designing it.

The simple fact is that no matter how much it sucks for you, you still need to face the fact that the crafting professions needed a serious nerfing. If for nothing else than to end this wasteful cycle of: AFK grind your way to master AS and then make nothing but composite armor. It is defeative of the purpose of the game and has destoryed it's unique nature. Players were never meant to ALL wear uber composite that does not hinder their abilites and does not require anything but the cash to buy it. It sucks for you, but it is just how it goes. It is ignorant to pretend that this was not needed. Just as CH needed it way back when.
Which leads me to the final point.....I pity you all. I can tell you this: Time since the CH profession recieved the "rebalance" they say you are getting? 18 months.....amount of updates and fixes they have granted the CH profession like was promised? 1/2 (they recently reduced the penalty given to pets in PvP from 75% to 25%) Hooray!
You guys are probably in for a very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very long, long, long , long, long ,long ,long, long ,long long, long wait. Feel free to come by the CH boards and we will show you how to sit around feeling sorry for yourselves. And be happy you had a Corr that admitted you were getting hosed. Ours still tries to deny that our profession has things that need to be fixed. He must be one of those new gelded Corrs.

And if you don't see a problem with the economy then you are blind. try being a noob in a galaxy where anything....ANYTHING, costs at least 6000 credits, well now up to 20,000.
I started playing around this time last year, and I remember having to grind survey missions for hours upon end to be able to buy BER13 harvesters. They have stayed at about the same price range since then. I wouldn't blame the economy for how the game is set up with regards to earning credits. An old player with an elite master can make as much credits in one hour as it takes a newbie a week or two. With that kind of exponential gain it is harder for newbies, but I wouldn't say that is our fault. People like to blame crafters for the inflated economy, but really it isn't crafters that is inputting money into the economy; they all come from missions. (and duping)
It will be even harder for newcomers to play after the CU, since the ability for a player to earn money is diminished. Is it crafters fault?

And the last time I bought a suit of Mabari? abotu 3 weeks ago. Along with my new bone armor. made from voritor scales and hides I gathered myself.
And before that? That people are buying odder armors now that they know they will have to use them after the CU is one thing. I've crafted all armor types, but I can't remember more than one or two customers wanting bone armor.
