So you're saying I could drop Doctor, and become AS, as per the respec?
no...i believe that the professions for which skill prerequisities changed are the only ones that get to respec
none of the AS trees are being changed but doc is losing the crafting tree for example so they have the option to take up part of BE, where the crafting stuff is being moved to.
Meuw wrote:To that I only retort, when was the last time you made a run of full mabari suits? Not an insult to AS or in fact to any crafter. Because I know what you mean. I have been every crafter except DE at one time or another. I understand the motivation but it cannot override the fact that we crafters have made the game into something it shouldnt have been. And armor has just become one of those things like my proffesion Chef: we ONLY sell the best. It is all about Brandy, and only +420 49 fill and 42 minutes, there is no middle ground anymore. If you try and sell anyhting else you will fail. How many suits of composite have you sold that were 50% kinetic and 30% base? I mean how often do you say, where should I put these exp points? Almost never, it is only composite, only kinetic or stun, and anything else no one buys. But like I said before, I don't blame you. I blme everyone for allowing it to happen. And I also pointed out that I don't really blame everyone playing either, because it was SOE's fault that they tried to let us regulate ourselves. That was just plain ignorant of human nature. I wish we could all be optimistic, but their track record shows that would just break our hearts. Truly sorry for what is happening to you guys, and entertainers, and BE's, and Doctors, and absically anyone without a stupid lightsaber or krayt pistol.
I would ask when was the last time you bought a mabari suit? Are you saying crafters should have all gotten together and agreed NOT to make the best we could? We make the best because that is the only thing that people will buy. You said that yourself. And regulate ourselves? We work in the crafting system SOE put in and try to do the best job we can. Are you saying we shouldn't have? It isn't the crafter's responsibility to regulate the game by instituting some policy of self-nerfing. We didn't invent 80 percent composite or 2800 buffs. SOE put the possibility of those things in the game, and with enough time, crafters were able to make them. It was indeed ignorant of SOE to make 80 percent comp possible and give us the resources to do it if their intention was not to have it in the game.
I don't see anything seriously broken about the SWG economy. People seem to have no trouble getting all the armor, weapons, and buffs they want. In fact, there's a huge supply of money out there. Prices are truly determined buy what people will pay, not by how much something costs to make.
There are very few of us who care that we won't be able to make 80 percent comp anymore. That's fine. We do, however, want to make the best armor possible and be creative in doing it. That's what makes the game fun for us. We enjoy the challenge of the current crafting process. There's actually math involved in making sure you get you armor to 80 percent. It's even more complex than weaponsmith where it's all about maxing the speed/damage line and then deciding what to do with the leftover points. That is what is being taken away from us.
And yes, armor is less important in the CURB thanks to the new level system. So if a bunch of old-time smiths quit, the game will certainly go on. New crafters will take our places, and they won't mind the new system because it's the only one they'll know.
all of our professions have needed love over the last 2 years...the changes in experimentation do not only affect AS but ALL crafters and therefore what happens on this board is of great concern to many people. the individual issues of ranger, smuggler, and yes, even CH, among the lesser dev loved prof's did not overtly affect others. attempting to throw this in the faces of crafters is supremely unfair.
im sorry but just because everyone wears armor now and not everyone has a creature, cantrack, or whateverdoesnt make us less important then you. and by that i also dont mean we are more important then you. every profession deserves attention and to run properly. But just because something doesnt effect a large population doesnt mean those professions are not important. i pay the same amount of money every month that you do.

I'm glad that I've been waiting to pre-order. I had a bad feeling so I waited. So far I have no reason to get the pre-order. I've stopped making armor, stopped stockingmy vendor....hopefully what stock I have gets bought up and used before it's nerfed. My resource vendor hasn't seen a sale in weeks since the AS nerf news. So basically I'm in a holding pattern until I like the CU. People will say that we're all upset because we don't like change. Actually, I was looking forward to the CU until I tried it, until they nerfed what should have been the CU. I tried EQ2, I tried EQ and didn't like either of them, but I like SWG for it's uniqueness and the freedom. Both of which I feel are slipping through our fingers. Incoming players will not know the difference, but how many loyal customers will SOE lose on May 5th I wonder? I'm not a big poster in the forums, never have been. I only recently started posting, even though I've been playing for about a year now. I loved AS. I loved being an AS. I loved to experiment on armor and see that some new resource I aquired made my armor just a tiny bit better, even if it was only 1%. This made it feel like an accomplishment. I was never in it for the money. In fact I never really made a lot of money from it. I donated most of the money I made into our guilds city, or tipped the entertainers well having been one myself for a long time. I helped out those who really needed it. All that seems to not matter anymore, my time, my effort, all gone.
Well, I'm hoping things change. I'll continuing testing the CU until release hoping for a better system.
