I find it discomforting that many on this board dont recognize that we need a correspondent ASAP. Okram did a fine job and I am just as sad as all of you to see him get booted. That said, we are only cutting off our nose to spite our face if we linger without representation.
I also found it dissapointing that so many were so rude to the correspondent applicant who introduced himself.
Get up and turn on the lights so you can see better.

Maybe I've missed something since I've given up on reading the Correspondent threads in the last few days, but do we really have any control as to when we get a correspondent? I mean Tiggs posted about applying. I'm assuming they'll be reviewing the applications then picking someone. While they may read some posts about who people would like, I don't think the fact some don't want one now would play into their thinking. I feel like the timing of getting a new representative is out of our control. We aren't a democracy.

We are protesting that they didnt even give him a warning...and its way tolate in the CU to change anything.

In no way is it to late to change things in the CU. Yes it is probably to late to completely start over and give us our full Exp lines back. but it is no no way to late to do 90% of the things that we are asking for.

What we are asking for is nothing massive, nothing CU-Breaking. We just want some tweaks to the current system. Yes we have some non-basic stuff as well I agree with that but we have three weeks, three weeks of testing is seriously a lot of time. This is why we need a Corresponent ASAP. Wether is it me or Zion or others we just need a voice.

"The Devs won't listen" is what I hear from almost everyone. Well that may or may not be true. But I just refuse to give up on a game I have played for almost 2 years out of spite.

In the end at least I can say I went down fighting.

Its true. Look at the state of the game BEFORE this CU. Look at the game BEFORE JTL. There has been bugs in this game from day one. Bugs that STILL occur day in day. Bugs that people /bug and they are still here. So it can be almost guaranteed that the Dev's DO NOT listen to either the player base or the Corrospondents. Tiggs and Garva can come in here everyday but I doubt they would say anything, but rather delete peoples negative postsand say the same rhetorical crap "that the Devs are busy borking this game to kingdom come to come on here and just respond however brieftly to concerns that effect EVERYONE."

I play this game to realise the dream I had when i was a child, the dream of Star Wars. Now that dream is turning into a nightmare... one very nasty ( and expensive ) nightmare..

The Devs to listen, at least to a certain extent...But like every normal person they are not able to respond to every single post out there, and that is the key to the problem. I am not trying to defend them, just stating simple facts.

So far they have given us back OQ/SR and reduced the organic requirements, but have failed to respond to the key issues. If they had said "well, issue A and C is not going to be touched during the CURB, but B, D and E can be discussed" , then we would have known where we were and what to focus on. And Okram would still have been the official Corr because it was this lack of feed-back that caused him to go to extreme measures.

Regarding the issues:

#1 (experimentation) is not going to be touched in the CURB according to Blixtev

#2-5 should be possible to implement without unbalancing the game. If they are lacking people to look at it, they could just ask this very capable forum to do the job for them...

I have nothing but respect for Okram and his work (including his continuing work on TC) and stood behind him to the bitter end. Now we have to face reality, if we want back the direct line to SOE/Devs, we need a new Correspondent. Unfortunately we are at the mercy of SOE here, my wish is that they will choose one we can rally behind.

For the record: I have not applied as I am undecided whether I will stay with the game. It seems like they are hell-bent on taking my content away from me, but I will give them some time to prove me wrong.

Bottom line whoever SOe picks will have to get a nod from Okram to get things going.

Okron hasn't even missed a beat. He is still posting the best most helpful DATA for the community to mul over and discuss in these dark days of bitter upheaval.

He is an AS somehow able to rise above it all, stay on target and continue to contribute for the good of the community.

He is the defacto corr. for all intents and porposes.
