I offer my services in the writing part, as your humble assistant
I had a go at Jaato's guide some weeks ago, the way it was organised is not very well suited for how we make armor today so I tried to make a more logical layout of the subsections. After a long vacation I have forgot most of it, but if you want to have a look at it you can PM me an adress I can mail it to.

I have a great web-host, but I have never gotten my webpage going really. I'd be very willing to let you guys use the space, The server has ALL of the php goodies, supports just about everything. Has plenty of built in goodies you can add etc. Multiple Mail accounts, all that good stuff. I could setup a directory for this website, and if we all wanted to pitch in to pay 15-20 bucks a year or whatever to get swgarmor.com or something the webserver also supports multiple domains so
PM me if you want more info.
I can also program and make graphics, but I wouldn't count on me for any of that because I'm bout to becom every busy IRL for a few weeks.

A number of people have mentioned SWGCraft.com, and they do have a service that could be put to use ... if we have someone who could code it.
SWGCraft publishes their current resource data for use by other websites as gzip'd XML and CSV files. I can't see anything on their data export page that says how frequently their info is updated.
I don't know a thing about CSV files, but I know enough XML to be dangerous. Maybe one of the more experienced coders would know how to handle the CSV files all server-side, but I can also see how to use XSLT to display what resources are available based on user choices such as which server, which planet(s), which schematic(s) and stat filters. The other thing that would have to take place server-side would be for the AS site to download the data files from SWGCraft on a regular basis and unzip them ... which seems a fairly trivial task compared to the rest.

Just curious how the progress is going, if it is even started yet. I really look forward to seeing it.
