Thread: Why this patch is good for armorsmiths (just the facts inside)

I can understand why everyone feels this way about the patch.

I looked at the difference in 10 points vs 12 points (I tried both) and the results are signficant when you do triple layers. And compared to what I could get before the patch with 12 points and what I get now. those 2 points make all the difference.

Still it would be nice to have something to strive for after you reach master, but it would seem insulting to have to have the extra 2 points to feel like you can compete with others. As it was pre-patch you just got some extra HAM reduction and/or some more seondary resists, but a 10 pointer could match a 12 pointer in base resists.

But making 75% base composite was a good feeling, I should have put some Janta hide in there to get it to 78%. As it is they will be the only pair of gloves I made with those results.

Actually, if you can experiment the HAM's low enough, it's actually better to make the 80% kinetic with three layers, rather than two. Essentially, three 2% base/6% kinetic layers are better than two 2% base/9% kinetic layers. The reason is that those three 2% base/6% kinetic layers will have a HAM cost of 2/2/2, if you've got good enough resources, while the two 2% base/9% kinetic layers will have a HAM cost of more like 8/8/8. You get a slight 1% boost per layer that really helps if you can get the HAM costs down.

Patch actually gives all the meaning to triple layers because it is possible to experiment HAM to 100% and get true 0/0/0 HAM 2% layers. ( meaning if I triple layer a segment the segment ham is the same as if the layers were not there...).

Sadly reaching that requires 11 pts spent on HAM and I can only do it on energy layers =((((

I actually didn't bother making very high base composite like others AS except as an experiment(I made one pair of 74% gloves that I destroyed after the experiment)because the market for high base has dried recently and every power gamers pvpers wants high stun and base as high as possible these days.....
