Not meant as a flame but, I think you guys need to understand...

Im a wookie. My composite (Hunting armor) costs 350k per suit. It wares out in about 10 good hard play sessions or about 20 hours of continuous fighting.

Group missions for Janta/Mokk will now pay around 3k at best. That leaves hunters 2 options.

Option 1) Hunt 10k missions with armor.

Option 2) Hunt 6k missions without armor.

Option 1 analysis

Given that in a buff period I personally make 700k now at 30k a mission that means that I'll be making about

233k after the patch. The issue however is that to make that 10k missions I'll be hunting mercs on Lok which degrade armor in about 4 hours of hunting not the normal 20 hours from Mokks.

(Mercs = ranged Janta = kited fools... lol =little armor damage)

This means for 2 play session or 4 hours my income looks like this with armor.

466k profit (- 1 set of Kyasshk hunting) = 116k profit

Option 2 analysis

It's fairly easy to take missions on starter planets for about 6k without armor. This will net me about 138k.

Therefore my profit for hunting without armor is 276k. (I also imagine I can do these missions at a higher rate but Im using a very low rate of missionover timein both senarios which is about 23 missions in 2 hours)

276k profit

Conclusion:

I will buy way less armor than I currently do. I usually buy a set about every 2 weeks worth of heavy grinding. I will now most likely only use my armor for pvp and most likely won't need new armor till after the combat balance if things change. If they do not change it could be 5 or 6 months.

Fencer types can pull 8k mission on Endor. (Master Fencers just don't the same high paying missions as other combat types.) If grouped, you can pull really big missions, each member taking two missions in the same direction, then plow through them quickly. You can make almost as much as a solo group if my numbers are right.

In other words, if you group and act like a group, you can make lots of money fast.

No doubt there is going to be an "adjustment" period when this patch comes out and I have no issue with adjusting my prices. Honestly I won't have a choice if I want to keep in business.I don't do alot of volume and work mostly for guildmates and on special orders.

The biggest factor for armor prices I would agree is the cost of resources. Mineral/chemical will probably stay stable because the cost to run harvestors is not changing. Hide is the deciding factor andif more people pick up scout to harvest while grinding their combat XP, itcan only be a good thing for the prices.

I don't think much is going to change for myself in how I get my resources. I harvest most of my hide myself and constantly check SWGcraft for the lastest spawns. If there is something I need, my guild gets together for a hunt/harvest session. Recently pulled in 17k of tat wooly hide in a 2-3 hour buff session and it only cost me the occasional suit of armor for a guildmate.

Overall I am looking forward to more group interaction. There is a balancing point that needs to be found between being forced to group to get something [higher level] done and being able to play on your own if none of your friends happen to be online.

As a Woookiee MBH you can collect all the harvested parts a master armorsmith needs to make your hunting armor. Throw down a personal floral on yavin 4 and dathomir and collect the evergreenwoods. Find a tailor who will sell you a crate of armor padding (get a couple or a schematic for a factory run.)Negotiate with a MAS with a good supply of the resources and I bet you can get yourKashyyykain Huntingarmor for a fraction of that price.

Also, Rarool, might I point out that you can take BH missions for NPCs and with JTL you can complete 2 an hour. As MBH/MC you should have no problem what so ever soloing BH missions without a buff and your armor will take much less damage. If you really want to do big NPC camp missions - you might want to try Endor or Lok's high end NPC missions - they might not pay quite as much as Janta - but they drop more cash and your ranged mitigation 3 will make the missions easy as pie.

As for the future of SWG/JTL economics. It's clear there is going to be a big change in the economy. Resouce prices are clearly rising. How it's going to pan out will depend entirely on shipwright and chasis decay. If JTL players need a newtier 4 or tier5 ship every week due to decay -- or so it's going to stay this way for a while.

Would you care to test out a 400 year old sword to see if it's decayed to condition 0? All the prior testers have no comment. Perhaps a gun which was used in WW I and still fires with high accuracy upto 1km?

If that doesn't get you, then start reading current military specifications for combat equipment.

I have toons that are pure combat and toons that are crafters ( Armor Smith ). The ONLY way I would lower my prices would be to have MY cost of goods lowered.

I laugh when I see posts about how crafters will be forced to lower their prices. Anyone that thinks this does NOT understand how Crafters work. If in lets say a month from now a player is not able to pay for my armor at current pricing then that means... he can not buy my armor. Players will ALWAYS pay for quality goods.

To have me lower my goods I need my COST of goods to be lower. I don't see that happening, in fact I see the cost of hides, meat, bones and looted items going up. Unless the spawns for Minerals, Chemicals, Hides, meat, bones and looted items jumps up and stays up, to increase the supply there by lowering per-item cost, the end item pricing will stay basically as it is.

The wildcard is the Guild crafters. They can sell at cost and undercut all others, driving them out. Having the Guild collect Hides, meat, bones, loot items, and using the lots of the Guild members, Guild crafters can have a HUGE impact on market pricing. I only play on 4 different servers so I only know how those markets work and I have not seen a a price war from within the Guild Crafters on those servers.

Even if someone undercuts my composit price by 50% I would just sell a uncommon item, Padded armor is a great example. Players will pay for a quality good, well above the price of a composit that is selling well below market price. I doubt the Devs really think this will have major impact on current pricing. They just don't like the Solo dynamic within the game.

I saw this in a post and thought Hhmmmm here someone willing to speak his mind.. LoL

"And guess what - I'm a crafter. Hell if I'm lowering my prices. Suck it up newbies, fail and fail again, quit the game and cry to mama. Waste weeks of your time getting enough credits to buy a freakin' Swoop. Lick it up. Scream at the Devs, but ya know, don't bother - soon you will learn young Padawan that the Devs will screw your game over in any way they can. Welcome to SWG."

Rarool - 80 kinetic black mountain armor should be much cheaper than hunting armor and is just as good vs mokk/janta/critter type opponents.

Right, so let me get this straight. Before, you made 700k a buff session. Buff sessions averaging about 3 hours let's say? Your armor lasted you 20 hrs of hard fighting. So one suit of armor that cost you 350K (my price )played a big part in you earning roughly 4.5 million credits, not including whatever loots you might sell from the missions. Minus the cost of armor and weapons and buffs and food and such let's say you made ten times as much as the one suit of armor cost. With numbers like that it makes me think I've been charging way too little and I consider my prices in general to be low compared to most AS on my server.

So now you won't make as much money, so you want us to lower prices so your profit margin is about the same? You aren't considering that we have a profit margin as well. Factories, harvesters, warehouses, vendors and tents all cost money to maintain. Resources cost money. Hides and bones, which other players provide, cost the most. The only way the cost of armor is going down is if the cost of the resources go down. Gotta talk to the rangers/miners about that one, not us.

Will the economy change? Absolutely it willand everyone will have to adjust. That being said, if the prices of creature resources, mainly, don't go down, the cost of the armor will not go down. You don't want to cut your profits, that's fully understandable, but neither do we.

number 1 source of credit income is once again jedi missions. Everyone take up bher and start killing your favourite jedi, 100k+ missions, no need for armour, <150k a decent pvper should easilly win220k+ need to have some uber weapons or a TKA. but in a single buff session i've made 1.2million credits solo from jedi.

OK, just no nit pick but a "solo group" should not happen. Really can't call it a nerf when anyone who did it knew that was not intended to work like that.

Not a flame or anything, but when were "we" told not to do this?

If you have a post or anything (from the past) I would appreciate it.

The evolution of the Solo group below:

TheCity Perk called improved Job market came to be.

Players using a city such as this naturally grouped, then when they were too powerful to get enough xp per lair, they started doing the lairs by themselves? If 1 player got into trouble, they could yell and another nearby player could run to their defense.I really can't see a problem with this. It is not exploiting and it makes players happy. If someone had ever stated this was exploiting in any way, it would not have evolved into the state that it now has.

I tend to disagree with what some of the armorsmiths have been saying.

Lets face it , most of us price our armor based on the demand and the time we want to spend crafting every day much more than on the price we pay for resources.

I don't know for some of you guys but I know that personally, seeing how I have always kept a tight control on what I was paying for resources, I can lower my prices very significantly and still remain highlgy profitable.

Lets face it, for someone that control their prices well, a suit of composite costs between 40 and 90k to make. Seeing the resell prices, we have a lot of margin to play with....
