There has always been a way to gain lots of credits through missons, so I doubt we would see much change.
Players get smart after patches like this.

I'd hope that these people will start hunting hide/bones/meats more often to suppliment their income.

well on a server where inflation isn't so bad that things are out of control, and people haven't ruined the economy with gajillions of credits... I am very very worried for our economy. Yes solo groups are the main source of income, and I have a very big feeling that a lot of crafters may just end up quitting when people can no longer afford their stuff...
I guess good for those of us who plan on trudging along through it, but good job devs, two weeks before WOW comes out, and more insentive for more people to leave, tempest is going to be a ghost town after WOW and Matrix Online roll around

The unfortunate thing about this is that, at least on Bloodfin, the economy has been quite stable for upwards of six months. Prices on essential items like food, weapons, armor, and vehicles have remained in the same range as they were back in March. In fact, I've seen deflation in a few markets, including armor. A suit of 69% base Composite back in February/March would have gone for nearly 600K. Today, 72% base sutisrun around 350K.
The solo group phenomenon has been around so long that the economies have absorbed and adapted to it. In the short-term, we shouldn't expect too many changes in the market for crafted goods -- after all, production costs haven't changed, and the demand shift is generally slow. The "SWG Have-Nots" will be affected the most immediately, as they'll be squeezed more harshly by the income reduction. Long-term, it's too difficult to make an accurate prediction, because we'll also have the fabled Combat Upgrade to contend with, not to mention it's still unknown how much JTL will have a permanent affect on armor demand.
I wouldn't suggest anyone lower their prices just yet. There is still a huge amount of residual cash left in the game that goes unspent, and it's generally in the hands of those who will buy large amounts of premium goods. The only thing that might prove profitable to reduce price in would be Ubese or very cheap Composite.

As soon as I read that the solo group was getting changed, I wondered how long it would be before people started in on crafters to lower their prices. I will gladly lower my prices if my costs are lowered. This can only happen one of two ways, if I harvest and use only the current resources which will result in a much lesser final product. Or if the resource wholesalers drop their prices. The raw ingredient price will need to drop for the crafted goods to drop. If I drop my prices first, I will not be able to buy those inflated 100-200cpu resources that is being demanded for any known AS ingredient of good quality. What will ensue is a grossly large range of prices, depending on the individual AS resources supply and his/her financial stability. What we will need is an NPC Alan Greenspan, who realizes that changes to the economy need to be made slowly. The group nerf could be done in increments gradually lowering payouts, to allow the server economy time to adjust without causing a recession. But time will tell, I do believe there is enough wealth out there to sustain the worst of the change, and we all got by fine over a year ago when a big payout mission was 10k and it took most of your night to complete it because we were walking there and unbuffed. So lets not get too crazy about this, no one will be walking 10k with a group of 8 to take out a piket lair for a 1000cr share.
What the hell is a "solo group" anyway? It needed to change. is it like an "individual team"? or perhaps a colorless rainbow? or a non-liquid drink?...it just doesnt make sense..never did. So a little patience and i personally think the game will be better off, even though we may experience some inconvenient times as the economy adjust.

i like this idea
people start hunting to make cash, scout and ranger will be more important to this game.
more hunters make hide prices drop, so armor will be cheaper soon.
and players actually might consider to buy chitin, ubese or padded to save some money.
especially padded will profit from this cause of the large amounts of hide needed

The problem with this is that on servers such as Bloodfin where the economy, while full of high prices, is stable. Players are able to afford what they want, when they want it. While this change will eventually lower prices, its going to throw our economy out the window for a while. While wecan lower our prices, thats going to create another issue, buying supplies/running harvesters. We then have to wait on those prices to drop before we can effectively create/sell armor and maintain a bank roll large enough to maintain harvesters/buy organics.
I see it causing problems for a lot of people thats going to take a long time to level out again.

Hm...They only way that Armorsmiths are going to be able to lower prices on their armor is if all the supplies go down, which I slightly doubt, since now reource sellers will need to make more money to compensate for the loss from solo groups.
Well anyways, you can hunt pickets without a group for 10k
:/ guess its time to save money

I think ubese will become very very popular. I mean you see people hunting in their comp and you know they paid prob 300k for the suit. I would make your hunting comp a little cheaper and produce more ubese.

Ubese wears out too quick. the condition on it is too low. Even High ham unsliced 50 base 80 kinetic Comp will last much longer and not cost that much more. This info is just from my experience. I prefer the ubese(the look and the HAM cost), but I just go through it too quick. If the condition on Ubese was as high as Comp, many more people would buy it. Good base effect sliced ubese can be pretty nice with a imp shield too. I do not mean uber by any means, but adequate for most things.

We will all have to adjust. I sell all my comp at 150k per suit anyway and 100k to my guildies...thats more than enough to break even and make a profit. To me, its a good thing...I mean we will have realistic prices again once the money gets spread around..no more 50 million auctions.

I don't forsee armor prices dropping too much. Like everyone else is saying, our resource prices will be the same or might even go up slightly (people trying to make more money in resources because they are earning less in missions).
Armor already is pretty cheap in my opinion considering what the costs of the resources are that go into it.

Ummonprime - Outstanding reply!5-starred ya...you should all read it
...10th reply down, I believe
Face it folks...my armor prices are affected by one thing and one thing only:
How much do I have to pay to get the materials?
If resource prices stay where they are, then so will my armor prices. It's simple economics. I never gouge based onsurpluses ofmoney"out there", and I will not lower my prices just because the customers are earning less money. They'll just have to save up for longer than 20 minutes to buy one of my 150K suits of kinetic comp. Since the armor lasts longer than 20 minutes, I'd say things aren't as critical as you try to make them sound.
