Thread: are Armoursmiths the best money making profession in the game?

Ittakes a huge amount of time to make hundreds of millions. At my best, I had 7 different suits of armor in stock, plus PSGs, AUKs, and even accessories, like padded and mabari belts. I was averaging 5-7 million per day, spending 15 mil per week on new resources/components. Basically all I did was make armor: either huge runs of crates of armor to keep vendors stocked, or making custom suits for good customers. But the tells and constant customer service gets tiring. Katrine probably had a mental breakdown around when Wookie hunting armor went live from all of the tells.

ASis very rewarding as a crafting profession. There is no "best" since the drive of the player to make money isa huge factor.Between the top profitable crafting professions (arch, doc, WS, AS), on any given server, there is a large enough market for people to make more than they will ever spend.

If I had to do it all over again, I'd stick with selling resources, and hoarding rare ones for a later date to sell off. For day-to-day funds, I would sell current resources that are spawning.

the biggest problem is the rare spawning resources and the organics involved. you can gobble up HUGE ammounts of very expensive stuff and not see anything even close to the same quality for months and months if any spawns at all. and forget being able to hire hunters if there is good avian meat at the same time as a good wooly spawn unless you want to pay massive cpu rates in order to sway them to help you.

hmm 210 units of wooly for a full suit of comp. I paid 75cpu for just over 250k of a recent wooly spawn (20m or so), and that'd be enough for me to make over 1000 full suits. (or if I ignore full suits and just produce limited stun helms that's 8000+ helms, I think my inorganics would give out first, Damn you colat iron! spawn!)

Dunno how that'd compare to doc stuff, I suspect you have a much higher ratio of organics (expensive) to inorganics (cheap) requirements on your goods then we do.

Now ifI were making an organic resource hog like padded I'm sureI'd never make much money ... doh!

I'm wondering if top end AS do lot more then dedicated crafting docs... my average sales are around 10 millions/week, but I'm never rich due to ressource buying, its just a cycle.

Once you get all/most of the old resources you need, and fall into a cycle of mining the new spawns or paying a decent rate for a new spawn of hide, your bankroll will rise extremely quickly. Pay for that +20 (or more) suit, and there's not much left to buy as an armorsmith. If you keep at it beyond that point, that's when you start to accumulate more money than you know what to do with.
