Thread: Fact: Pants can no longer be hit

It's not that pants can no longer be hit...it's how armor (or lack thereof) affects the the areas of the body it's worn on and how the game calculates that damage, based on how much armor you are wearing. For all intents and purposes, so far as damage protection is concerned, a helm/chest/gloves and boots gives you the same amount of protection as a full suit would, minus the extra ham encumbrance.

Boots and pants, obviously protect the legs. If I wear only boots, the boots absorbthe damage targeted at my action pool. If I wear ONLY gloves and a chestplate, those stopthe damage coming into my health pool. I get no, zero, zip, nada as far as unblocked shots go.

However, if I equip gloves, chestplate and ANY one of the following, biceps or bracers, without putting on all of them, then I start to take ublocked hits to my health pool.

For me, the benefit of less encumb on my ham wearing just helm/chest/boots/gloves far outweighs the fact that all the extract damage they are absoribing shreds them in a couple of days.

Bah...forgot to mention...I've been killing Elders, krayts, acklay..etc for a long time now, wearing just the helm/chest/gloves and boots. Works fine. Gotta replace a lot of armor though.

Does the broken special Scatter Hit 2 hit the legs and arms? or does it not matter as with everything else?

I'm back to all peices but the biceps and bracers, no armor holes so far. Had to have the leggings on to avoid action hits.

Beh, I've been having major problems with Lithium recently. Couldn't log on at all yesterday and then after I made several posts last night there was apparently a rollback that erased all of them.

This was indeed an old issue that was reported about five-six months ago. As I recall, it was fixed at the time, or at least I remember that following the patch in which it was supposed to be fixed I ran several tests that indicated that this "bug" was no longer cropping up. I'll bring it back to the devs attention and see what can be done about it.

Would also be interested to know if using this information is concidered as an exploit.

I don't think so, but better ask first.

So we created a system that would allow players to switch professions during the game, and there would be a lot of gameplay around making that change. If you want to go from architect to scout we've created a system to make that happen."

A bit more info, I found if I wore a skirt instead of composite armor pants I would get hit for full damage on my legs, however, when I removed the skirt all hits went to my boots. Do other non-armor pants create the same sort of effect where you can be hit through your armor-less legs?

I hunted on dantooine all night last night fighting mokk, janta, force NPCs, huurtons and other random things that agroed me.. I had no helmet on (but head did get hit some of course) I had Composite Chest, Gloves and Boots. I had shorts for pants.

I never had my action pool take damage like I would expect from not wearing pants.. I checked the logs and the last few battles I could still see in the list I never took a hit that didnt get blocked by armor except the head hits.

I dont know for sure if this is a new thing, but its definitely not been like this for to long since I can remember dying due to to much action loss before..

Are you serious? I wasnt taking leg hits today but thats because I messed up and had some med pants on instead of the thin pleated skirt I usually wear... currently wearing all armor except pants and arm peices, did some NS hunting and not one went through...

I'll have to test more. I'm trying to get away from this thread but it keeps drawing me back

Ah, Sengis, one ofthe ever presentexploiters. Nice.

Too bad they probably won't ban you even though you've justpublicly admitted knowledge of the exploitand your active desire to keep it secret without reporting it. What other exploits are you holding to your chest?

Not a smart exploiter... but on the other hand, you'll likely get away with it anyway. Probably... you've been around for a long time, presumably using any exploit you can find along the way and made it this far without getting kicked. Good for you.

Ihope it was worth the risk for you to tell us just how "connected" and "sneaky" you are and howdumb we are for "letting the secret out".

Fortunately a good number of exploiters have an over developed sense of virtual ego and feel the need to either be extravagent in their abuse or shoot-off their mouth about how "clever" or "connected" they are and how naive everyone else is. Just a shame they still often get away with it. Oh well, a good number of you still get nailed too, so I guess that's some consolation.

It's also fortunate that there are fun people, the majority I think (hope?),like New-Name and many of the other posters here who actually want to play and improve the game.

Hope to not see you soon Sengis...

Hum, even if I do think Sengis is not very smart to say what he said here, I have trouble calling that exploiting.

It doesn't hurt the AS business as they have less partq to do, and more repeated sales (remember the other parts get destroyed much faster)
Yes, you gain a little in HAM cost, but, seriously, HAM cost is a joke with all the buff around these days.

Besides, it finally give some nice business to tailor with the BE pants.

So, even if it is a bug, it is definitively not a bad one.
