Yes, I know I can be a b itch...
To open the second character slot is the only benefit I see. An armorsmith makes a pretty poor jedi (No offense, Caile) if you want to keep any of the usual complimentary professions (smuggler, merchant, etc.).
hopefully my jedi template will be done sometime next weekpowers 4400 (with the cloak) enhancer 2002 (force run, and channel) healer 3000 (advanced heal) and master artisan/master DEthat leave 0 free skill points, once you count the 24 FS boxesonly crafting template that is more fun than AS
