"But [president of LucasArts Jim] Ward is disappointed that the game is still falling behind other MMOGs like Blizzard's "World of Warcraft" which launched just eight months ago in November, 2004 and which now boasts 2 million subscribers and a 22% market share. While Ward wouldn't give numbers, independent MMOG analyst Bruce Sterling Woodcock's June figures show LucasArts at 255,000 subscribers and a 2.8% market share.
"Two million subscribers is what we ought to be doing too," comments Ward. "All I can say is that we need to keep pace. What Blizzard has done so well is to make the 'World Of Warcraft' so accessible to a lot of people who just jump right in and play. They've done a great job. Bravo! And that's helped the overall MMOG space, if you will. Now our goal is to leapfrog them and do some new and exciting things ourselves."

does "new and exiting" mean ripping off WoW's style of combat and pasting it over your already existing game? lol, i bet someday the devs will just copy and paste all of WoW's entire code into SWG and just change the title.

2 million subscribers wanted? Wow ( um er bad phrase eh?)! With the lag already from 255,000 subscribers could you imagne 10 times as many people running about? And consider the number of Pre Cu folk who had more than 1 account. Your starting to look at less than 200 thousand folk.
The idea that working hard at a profession could make you uber at it was my appeal to the game. Since the CU hit having crafting limits on weapons, or getting great armor now gone and upper class specific, or having great pet tamed or bio engineered reduced or capped, or doctor buffing now diminished, or getting to where your combat ability with a combination of all the above combined allowed you to tackel the harder creatures now irrelevent has hurt my enjoyment.
If over half the subscribers are veteran players who feel disconnected with their avatars.. the numbers will just start dropping.
A friend said "why are you not PVP'in now"?.. My reply was I took enjoyment in PVE and exploring the game.
There used to be a sense of time progression in the game. Seems we are caught in a time trap now. The Wookie expansion did nothing to forward the game. The only reason I saty still is because of my avatar. If I could get a standalone version of this game and save my avatar and several hundred items then I would go and not bother anyone. I think I'll make a topic in another forum on this point.

Well at least all those saying that SWG and jedi and timeline can read this official from GL himself:-
"If we think we're going somewhere with a plot that is really off limits," says Ward, "if it might be something that's not appropriate for 'Star Wars,' then it's primarily a George call. If he's uncomfortable with the direction, he'll let us know. But he's very supportive, he's the one who loves to have the flexibility within a 'Star Wars' storyline to be able to do a lot of different things, and he understands that, when it comes to gaming, you can't be too rigid because it might kill a really great game concept."
Seems even he will bend the rules to keep a game interesting, so all those that say 'dont fit with the timeline' check that out ^ ^ ^

While waiting for the old man to show up i searched for Ranger on the ingame knowledge base.
Descripiotn
[Ranger]
Primary role:STEALTH, tracking, Creature COMBAT
Secondary role:Camping, Creature trapping, Creature Harvesting
Interesting how our best feature (harvesting) is a secondary role
Also noticed Ranger is still listed as being certed for Mando

Today I was beaten by a BH that I beat just 2 weeks ago. 2 weeks ago he attacked while I was in the middle of a lair helping a grind group, I shook of the MOB's and won the battle after a long and good fight. Today, he came again, I was in a hosue, saw him, was fully prepared, used health crystal and mind crystal, had all the best foods on. The fight went on for 20 minutes, but I was never even close to winning. With the snare changes I was on perma walk mode through the entire fight, only about 5 seconds was I not snared. Most of the time all I could do was saber throw. In the end I lost to running out of mind, but the thing is, I never had a shot. I wasn't even close to winning at any point. My saber is as good as it gets, near perfect, and I got Jedi Knight nearly a year ago. Are we no longer the elite class? Is it now CM BH's that rule the game? It's sad, after all the time and effort that went into my toon, to be left with a toon that can be throttled by a toon that can be ground out in 2 weeks.

That is a bit sad, honestly it's not a nerf but a fix...but maybe they should fix the fix.
I played my BH more than my Jedi, was just more fun to me...but I have to agree that jedi should be powerful in the right templates and that BH's should have to rely on intelligence and the element of surprise to win not snares and spamming skills.
