I agree that there should be some changes but I do not agree that new armorsmiths should be able to compete with guys that have been in the profession a year or more. That discounts everything we have done to get the top resources and work out our stock and inventory. I can't even imagine the amount of time that I have put into this profession over the last 12 months and I know that I don't even come close to some of the other guys on this board. I think there will be a lot more specialization and I have even considered partnering with another armorsmith for the CU so we could each make different different types of armor and have several well stocked vendors.

I for one am very anxious to see the resource requirements for the faction armors.

Even if they do change the actual resource requirements, the odds are that it will still be OQ+SR for resists and OQ+MAL for encumberance. Resources that were good before will likely be just as good afterwards, even if not necessarily required.

I'd just go about your business and buy/harvest good materials as they come about.

Ive been a MAS for nearly 2 months now and i agree that they should use nearly the same resources and not start from scratch. I enjoy nothing more than a challenge in making the best Armor possible and i am often found drolling over armor made by the best and hunting for the resources i need on the bazaars. Those guys who say that everyone should start on the same playing field dont really appriciate the time and effort that the armorsmoths before me have put in. Now im no 12pt smith or even RIS certified and im not sucking up to anyone, but those guys at the top of our profession is what i want to be like i dont care how long it takes me. Role on when the CU come in, and no matter what skill level armorsmith you are, we will all make a killing!!
