Thread: Lots of AS have quit AS on Chimaera how about your server?

I recently retired from AS on Starsider, been doing it since day 1 of this game. Just felt like trying some other stuff in the game.

The new factory times do royally stink. My #1 peeve though is the size of crates of subcomponents. I can't recall the amount of times I ran armor, with the factory keep on saying "0 items produced" only to find out I am using the wrong subcomponent serial # because I have like 40 crates of the same thing.

For crate size, I know the devs give us the BS reason that manufacturing schems were only supposed to be limited to 100, but due to an error we were able to make it 1000. I could guarantee though that there would be a mass exodus from this game if all the crafters were limited to 100. No one would want to craft because they would be crafting 24x7 just to keep up with demand. Also, nobody would be able to ever find stuff to buy because the Supply of Goods would be almost non-existant.

SWG have gone through this process once before many moons ago. You have quite lots of well know AS got burned out on armor. Shadowfire has experienced it.Thanks goodness for Shadowfire the Fab four is still arround. We're just bored but not quite at the quitting level yet.

Valcyn has seen several major WS drop out but has had an influx of armoursmiths. Dang, sales are slow enough lol, but I am a small time smith and haven't really noticed. But I do see a slow down in armour right now due to more smiths and a generally lower amount of creds around, otherwise big-name smiths woulnd't be jacking my ideas or moving back into towns they had moved out of.

On Eclipse, about every two weeks we'll have an auction goin on our trade forum for a "Quitting armorsmith, selling everything."

This doesn't include the armorsmiths that quit and leave everything to another smith in their guild or something.

I know we just lost a long time smith last week, and I know of one smith who was one of the best on the server a few months ago and is rarely on now.

Probably any combination of things is why they're leaving.

i know 3 or 4 AS on shadowfire that droped it that have been around for over a year, 3 of them 12 pointers. No they didnt have multi vendor spots, but people like pann were dependable. EQ2 has taken a few other lower lvl ones as well

There are couple of several that I blame, personally:

a. why bother with a profession that is not needed in space? Sales have dropped a lot since JTL came out, so I imagine that people with a less established network have given up

b. competing games out there are looking very interesting (and admit they're in beta)

c. boredom. After 10 months of AS, I'm about ready to throw in the towel, too. Nothing new and intersting happening as a crafter. Ithorian armour was added, but how many Ithorians do you see? Besides, all Ithorian is, is a composite set which look different.

d. factory time factor. It takes 3-4 days to do a run. Unless you have very good contacts then it's not exactly an easy job. You're looking at 12 days to get the layers done, if you're trying to harvest any of your own resources.

Hello there, Billy here - Farstar,

I have been AS since server start and in thepastweek have found it hard to log in.

Reason is that I am bored and I think this is the reason many are dropping AS or dropping out all together. I love being an AS, have made some of the best stuff on our server and a name for myself. Built a good shop, built a nice city and enjoy our guild.

I just wish someone would add some good content. I wish we had some exciting monthly patches or something. I hope I can hold on until the combat revamp. I hope the combat revamp will bethe fix and not the final straw. I hope that after combat revamp we get some content.

We ever live in hope.

Advise for SWG - # 1 requirement from a service provider by it's customers to ensure loyalty = responsiveness.

I didn't quit just got amazing annoyed at the direction the game was taking, and took a long break from it played other things and now i'm back and will be making armor again very soon. Some times you just need a break because you do get burned out making armor for a year and some rude remarks from people when your not stocked as you can't keep up with demand sort of puts a dark cloud over things. However i feel refreshed and enjoying the game again.

Startsider has certainly had its share of quits. Worst part is they liquidated everything, so now these new masters are getting really good resources for next to nothing. What I used tosearch the galaxy for, weeks at a time is now readily available.

As far as the boredom, I'm not sure the cause or solution. I know right now I have full runs of Stun, 76kin Ubese, Chitin, Bone, Padded....segments are done to make full runs of each. Components have been purchased, resources are seprated into proper amounts and bags......and I can't bring myself to put on the crafting suit and load the factories with the final combine. Crates and crates of segments have been sitting in the factories behind my house (Rauha is the most beautiful city will hospitality I've yet to find elsewhere) for almost 2 weeks now and.....meh. Just don't feel like it.

Probably derived from my current feelings on the game. It's more of a social thing for me and not game mechanics. What used to be within SWG is no more, and what I used to play for is no more. The people I used to play with, the things we did, the goals we had.....all gone.

Crafting since Publish 5. I'm holding on in hopes the Armorsmith profession gets the love it deserves. I prefer the pre-CU system, crafting and combat. I would also like to see decay and hide gathering reinstalled into the game, as well as some epic Recon, craftable of course. And make being 12 point important again.

Crafters that have been around a long time are quiting Chef also long with AS and WS most chefs who have been serving Chimaera are begining to disappear or not stock anymore. This has happened a while before the release of Eq2 and WOW were planed but it s cycle old crafters will go and new ones will take thier place. Its Galaxies we have no control over it ;(
