Thread: Acid and Stun resists on R.I.S (is it worth it?)
Well, considernig the combat rebalance just got delayed, you're right, there really is no reason to work on RIS armor. However, all of the discussion we've been having with RIS is in anticipation of how its going to fair in a post combat rebalance setting. The general consensus is that after the rebalance, RIS is going to be superior to composite.
RIS armor will never be good pvp armor.
It can be very light kick ass pve armor but it's just not designed to be used for pvp.....

I tend to disagree, I think after the rebalance it will be THE pve armor but still won't stack up to composite in pvp even if they drop composite cap to 60%....
Plugging all the vulnerabilities on RIS just has you make subpar composite with equivallent or higher hams...

Who says the base resistnaces are gonna be the only thing to drop on Composite. I believe composite will gain a few vulnerabilities with the rebalance.
If they put too many vulnerabilities into armor what is going to be the point in even wearing against NPC characters such as Nightsisters? They already use different types of weapons, such as stun batons, power hammers, etc........
We still need 1 armorthat has all around good protection such as composite.

Except with the new armor-switching delay you stand still for 30 seconds while switching armor...

So if that NS pulls out stun you might put on tantel, but if he pulls out a powerhammer, you will need ubese, if he does something else, you will need comp...etc.

Exactly. Plus are you going to carry 3 full suits of armor with you at all times?
Do an experiment: Wear Bone Armor vs. a nightsister or 2, then change into Composite in the middle of the fight.
