i think the difficulty and prices needed for +20 in tapes is outrageous

id be more than willing to work through quests to EARN +2 exp points. makes more sense to me than dropping 50mil on attachtments. i personally cant wait - and it only takes a measly 4sp to get the bonuses

Cool. It looks I could obtain some extra experimentation skill points finally. I can't afford 60million+ for skill tapes.

Hopefully the bonuses to repair and the "force Techniques" line actually work. The force sensitive trees actually look pretty cool IMO.

God I hope that this is just ment to be used by the Jedi as theri form of experimentation...

Because if we do start seeing 14point masters there will be no point in any other masters of their profession even at 10 or 12 points..

This could be really bad...

lets hope Jaato can get us more info soon...

Still can't wait to work through the quests AND spend millions on skill tapes? Think your 10-point master is worthless against a 12-pointer? How about against a 14-pointer?

The problem isn't that 10 point crafters cannot make products that can compete with those of a 12 point crafter, all they should need to do is sell at a somewhat lower price to meet the needs of those with less credits.

The problem is that the 12 point crafters have access to large enough amounts of resources (not helped by lot trading), and large enough amounts of storage (using vendors as storage) to supply the needs of nearly all of the community, so there is no-one left to buy from the new guy whose stuff is not quite so good.

The fact that so many crafters are crying out for more storage capacity, larger crate sizes and larger resource stacks, but are being turned down by the Devs shows that these crafters clearly have more components and resources than they are using.

All these issues are connected, if masters couldn't churn out 100's of items every week because they couldn't get all the materials, or couldn't store enough to do huge factory runs then the newer crafters would have a shot at filling the hole the top masters would be leaving.

It sounds more like the Alternative Advancement scheme from EQ to be honest.

Once you've completed your chosen professions there is no other way to advance in this game - so it looks like the Devs are providing one. You'll have the choice of buying (or finding I suppose) skill tapes or doing the quests to unlock that tree and more quests to gain the XP needed to purchase those skill boxes.

Pretty smart actually. It'll give everyone the opportunity to be a 12 point crafter, evening out the economy again at the top levels.

Jaato just needs to ensure the Devs aren't coming from a different angle and intending it to stack with skill tapes. That would be bad. Otherwise - pretty smart addition to the game IMO.

Umm..I'll have to ask a dumb question...where exactly did that site get such exact information? I didn't see any of that in patch notes anywhere..unless I missed it?

Some of the information seems a bit...suspect.

When you need 20+ different named resources, half of which only spawn once a month and spawn with good quality once every six months or less, huge stockpiles ofminerals are absolutely required for anyone who plans to be a long-term crafter. A popular weaponsmith can burn through over 200k irolunn reactive gas a month, plus at least that much distributed across other resources. If you don't have the best resources, you lose tons of sales.

I'm going to do my best to figure out what angle the devs are coming from and let you folks know. It's probably going to take more than a couple hours, though, although you never know

In other news, I'm going far, far for a few days, so I won't be posting much then. I try to make it a point not to be wired when I'm on vacation.
