what would be better is 40% Stun with 66% + base.. get all effectiveness slices on a cheater suit to take the base to 90%... you got your self a mean PvP set of armor.
on a cheater suit?? i heard rumors about a cheat to make 90% base slices you say there is/was one?
Slider is correct, i meant the 4 piece cheater suit
I have gotten some lucky slices with my helmet and gloves.. not so lucky with chest and boots tho ![]()
I wanna get a hold of some good crisim so i can make some decent stun.. but i got in the AS game after all the good spawns.. and no-one is letting go of there stuff!! (Can't say i blame them!!

Most of what i make is 80kin 80 electric 6-10% stun 71% base. Id rather do this then have a ton of special resists, because with effective slices I end up with suits in the high 80s to 90% on base, 80% kinetic and stun removed from the vulnerability. And even with encumbrance slices you still have a nice kinetic suit with some stun protection. I dont see the need or benefit to stacking so much into the special resists, it takes away the option of being sliced and will make a heavy suit. In fact I sometimes rather roll the dice the other way and do cold layered suits and pray for effective slices and you can end up with 90% kinetic base suits. Howvere the encumbrance sliced cold layered are tough to move because kinetic is in the base.
Just my 2 cents

lol you guys got nothing. I made a suit of rancor comp with base hides that had:
80% kin
80% energy
80% heat
80% cold
80% electrical
8% stun
75% blast
75% acid
HAMs were INSANE though. like 1050/950/1050.... i didnt bother to use custom 4/5 kin/energy layers tho so it was kinda high.
best bet.... for now... is 40% stun 68% stun comp with 33-35% eff slice. 90% base with 40 stun owns all.

I make 4% stun/80%el/hight base (not blast or cold) because I am "old -fashioned" AS
andalways try to reduceHAM . 4% or 8% stun- not a big diff. in resiste but HAM is better. Two electric layers - I can make it as light as possible , so 90% helmetarmor has mindenc. 290 or so. If I make hight stun armor I have no chance to lower HAM - but this is PVP armor only, I don't think 40% stun needed for hunters.

ahazi smiths pretty much have to put a 10% stun layer on everything
our most popular sellers are 30/70, 39/67, and 80kin/80energy/80elec/10stun/70base

this thread was about unenhanced armor, so rancor stuff dont really count i guess

well unenhanced ive made 80/80/80/80/71 /shrug
72 base is certainly possible, but becomes prohibitively expensive

IMO, the best armor is either 40% stun 90% base (rare) or 29% stun 90% base (easily made on Wanderhome). I make 80x4 comp as well. It's simply convenient, not necessarily good, let alone the best.

these suits are not too hard to make
for people too lazy to slice
there are 100% gloves on Valcyn, garvin has them

I've made 40% stun armor with 71% base before with Janta hide. Made 90% base pretty easy. The helm sold for a good amount. 41,000 condition as well

Armour without a stun layer is only good for grinding because any noob or NPC with a stun weapon will come own you.
All these 80/80/80/70 suits are all well and good but soooo heavy. We need to start thinking lighter as less players can afford to be pumping thenselves full of mind food/drink all the time just to be able to use armour.
