i think if they introduced customization kits for armor like bikes and droids things would be so much easier...as far as ris goes i dont make it until some1 orders it off me, and i require a down payment from them so im not stuck with some colored helmet that people will complain about when i tell them what color it is
everyone wants black, but the best we can do atm is that gray color that makes a full suit look like bh armor
expand the pallete would be good but customization kits wouldnt hurt either

Another option would be to add that option maybe for a few weeks so that the people who have sets that do not match can change them ....

paint/color kits would be something I can support, but not just making it manualy changeable.
Like someone mentined earlier, the color change for composite was a bug fix put in over a year ago, that was never removed.
Boo on the devs.

I am definitely opposed to making RIS color-changable.
When I make an RIS suit for a customer, it's a unique item, it's special. It should have unique character, and the color of the suit is the biggest part of that. Having the color changable afterwards makes RIS "generic", like composite. RIS isn't a mass produced thing, it's the height of custom crafting. When someone comes to me for RIS, it's because they want something that is meaningful, as a symbol of what they've accomplished in the game.
I think the palette is fine, it actually has some interesting combinations once you play with it some. Everyone wants black and if you made black possible it would be everywhere, I think the greys and blues are much more interesting. And the people who like flashy RIS go for red, and that's fine too.

I cant agree with you , people are collecting the parts together and if one armorsmith chooses wrong color at 1 part the set is not matching , that is really bad ...
Im really down now , i will try to post a pic of the armor i have now , boots and leggings have wrong color..., + 1 crit fail , so i dont have gloves ... and completly broke now .. lol

It was funny, I made some RIS for a guy on my server and forgot what colors I had used. I knew it was red and one of the greys, but damn, there are 3 different greys. Well, I got it wrong so it was slightly miscolored. Luckly the guy didn't care. Was just happy to have some RIS.
Moments like this make me wish we had color changing kits or something. The customer may not have told me he was upset, but it bugged the hell out of me. RIS is so expensive, I want it to be perfect every time.

Getting the color choice correct for your customers can be a problem, and I know it has been at times for me. "Id like some padded armor with that blueish color and that greenish brown. 17 advanced segments and hundreds of hides later an unhappy customer because its the wrong shade of the dozen greens on the palette.
I lucked into this website, i just ask my customers to pick the colors off the chart and presto bammo they get exactly what they want, hope it helps

You know you guys, if you just took the time to be appropriately careful when making RIS you wouldn't have a problem.
Take your time, check all the possibilities, etc. It takes me a few hours to craft each suit (mainly cause of waiting on the port to empty, but still).
USE a screenshot of the palette to guide the customer.
