I like what you all said. We have it figured out. Thank youfor the viable discusion.
I would like something that will havelittle more protection, at least more stat choices. I'm sure the next the armor will allow 1 or 2 layers.
but tell you the truth... it is kin'of funny, in a sense, that wookiees arean enjoyable kill, even for me, I always target the Imperial wookiees.

As a wookiee and a smuggler I think this is an excellent idea. People don't realize how much buffs have effected the game. Encum. means nothing because of buffs. When they get nerfed everyone won't be able to wear composite and spam their specials like no tomorrow. This is where the wookiee HAM bonus will be actually provide some benefit.

I think the Wookie armor is fine as it is, and should not be improved, with the exception of having an additional layer, or exotic segment option added. Wookies, your armor is really not to blame for apparent PvP ineptitude, the ludicrous Doctor buffs are. Your racial advantage ( which far outweighs any of the other race specific traits ) was suposed to have been the higher HAM ratings. This would have been a viable advantage had it not been for the fact that theerrantly planned and naively implimented Doctor's buff systemhas entirely scrapped that advantage for you. You all know, but it bares repeating, that a 2500k+ HAM buff for all players utterly negates your advantage, and renders you a prime PvP target because it exposes your primary weakness... lack of high-end armor.
However, if you were granted high-end armor, this then would allow you to exploit all other race's primary weakness...lower HAM.
You cannot have it both ways. Either lose the HAM bonus, and acquire a more nominal racial advantage (say +10 defense vs knockdown), or settle for less than optimal armor options. To put you all in a Composite equivelent would do little more than imbalance the game for the remainder of the player races.
Ultimately whatI would like to see is a major nerf to Doctor buffing, and in particular to Secondary stat buffing which is where the crux of yourcomplaint really rests. Without the benefit of easily buff-wearing any armor they like, regardless of encumbrance, non-Wookies (races without stout HAM) would be forced to make some realistic choices and severe comprimises to their Primary pools in order to be resist stacked. The average Composite wearer would then have to average around 700 per Primary pool to get into such armor, which would in turn make the Wookie points matter for something, so long as buffs are reeled in dramatically.
To this end I would propose that Doctor's buffing do no more than double the PRIMARY player statistics (base), and do not affect Secondaries at all. Let illegal drugs do the Secondary buffing exclusively, and those only for a short duration. Also, armor encumbrance costs MUST be compared to (and only to) the base numbers for the player, and any armor donned while buffing are auto-removed from(or cause severe detriment to) the player wearing them after the buff wears off. Lastly, allow all damage/hit bonuses for weaponAP to affect everyone equally, in effect causing any AP0 hit to an unarmored opponent to score a +125% damage total, instead of the silly way it is implimented now with unarmored players taking less damage from AP+ weaponry at lower rates than players who haveonly nominal resist to that damage type.
I think that if these points were implimented, we would actually see a Wookie advantage emerge without making them superior to other races.

Having to sit and watch others have fun is not exactly my idea of a good time. I hope the devs don't requirea stack of 4kNightsister Elder overies with matching serial numbers to make this stuff.
Bitter? Yes.

Here is my main complaint about the current state of wookiee armor:
I go out and buy a brand new set of 51% Kenetic resist armor that has 22k duribility. In 1 buff period on Dath (3 hours) it has gone from 22k to 8k and my 51% Kenetic resist is now at 40.1%. This armor just cost me 85k (just the breastplate) and with that in mind, the buffs are 12k.
I hardly break even at this ratio. With comp armor you can go for weeks hunting and not need to replace anything. This is just retarted. If I had died I cant imagin what shape my armor would be in.
I propose that our armor is boosted to atleast 150k duribilty as the breastplate alone takes all the damage from headshots to torso shots. This way I wouldnt have to replace my armor every night I get on to go hunting!

Shop around. Now, I understand that every server is different, but I still find shops that are selling junky Kashyyykian armor for insane prices. 75k for a Wookiee bp is ridiculous.

Really? Whats the norm on prices/protection/duribility? The armor I buy on Kettemoor is usually 85k/51%/22k which is equal to about 1 buff cycle...

Its hard to say, and it could just be a server economy thing. On Chilastra I do see the 75k for Kashyyykian bps, but I also see 15k for better bps (we can hit in the 57-58%kinetic without enhancements...there might be some better resources floating around, but thats just what I see). Im a bit on the overpriced side as I sell my 56%kin/27%base (got lucky on the combines) Kashyyykian bp for 25k. As around on your trade boards, I know that someone has to be selling it for cheaper.

Wow, 60k differance and another 5-6% of kenetic resist... I have been getting riped off!
I guess it is time to start shopping around for a better smith... I really wish they would bump the duribility up to around 150k so that it would last a few days atleast. Thanks for your info though, good to know what to look for!

Well again, I know I opened the can, but it could just be a server economy thing. It should also be noted that the higher the kinetic resist is, the longer it will last. There may not be a huge difference between 50 and 60% kinetic, but there is a difference.
If you find you are spending too much on armor, shop around. There is always at least one smith out there trying to break into the profession by offering lower prices.

There are even some smiths who think 800% profit on armor is ludicrous... except maybe for Composite.

I make some of the highest stat Kashyyykian on Starsider at 54% kinetic, 29 % base, 22k Condition and I have the prices set at 35k a chestplate, 20k for leggings, and 10k per bracer. That's 75k for a full set. 85k for just a chestplate is insane, Kettemoor. This ain't Ubese we're talking about here. Evenif I haduber shifts of wood and leather for the adv segments which might get Kashyyykian into the 60s for kinetic, I wouldn't charge anything over 90k per suit.
Speaking of Ubese, further down in the dev chat everybody'squoting is a comment from one of the devs that the next two Wookiee armors are patterned after Ubese and Composite. I'm assuming this refers to resistances, number of possible layers, condition, and encumbrance.
Wookiees wearing the equivalent of composite? Discuss.
