Thread: Quad Energy Layered Assault
Most of my BH orders are for energy layered armor as well, customer is king 
I normally convince a few to go with primus instead. A BH armor build with primus teamed with a good psg makes for a very decent all round pvp suit.
The sheer stupidity of certing BHs to wear armor suited to kinetic damage and professions like rifleman (don't know many rangers who aren't riflemen these days) to wear armor for energy damage is just astounding. I guess it's just another example of how "balanced" our combat system is now ... "Let's figure out the most typical type of damage a profession will face, and then require them to wear the armor that is worst suited for the task ... toss in some layers to compensate, and we have everyone wearing armor with equal stats!"

The common caps are here. You're probably not going to be able to cap layers. Unlike cores, it takes near perfect resources (and the musician buff).

kinetic layered assault 8200K 3800E 6000B
primus layered assault 7600K 5600E 5400B
energy layered assault 5800K 6200E 6000B (for all those bounty hunter armor folks who want to hunt jedi in it)
That comes from one of the stickies is your forums, if any BH's flash thru here to take a quick glance, they get mystified & probably repost the info on the BH forums for all the others that don't like reading outside of our forums. It's sad, but they are probably figureing that they can get 2 sets of Assault armor, PvP 4EL type & PvE kinetic layered type. Even tho most of us are through smacking around mobs at this point this still works for looting armor segs & cores off from high end mobs & smacking up Nightisters & Auukuans for the loots. The energy layered Assault is a known sad way to go, but Composite, Mandalorian& BH are very well liked armors so since they don't know what they are doing wrong they just go with it. You AS's laugh & make it for them, some of you try to convince them out of it speaking in a language that the BH doesn't understand, not enough Jedi's & Ubers Proton Carbs thrown into the lecture. If they are happy with the armor, it's all good. If they beat most of the Jedi they ever face in this Assault turned crappy Battle armor, they must be the best PvP'ers on the server, image that guy would p0wn every 1& crash the server everytime they got on with their MeGA-Ubarness if they were wearing capped Recon.

I mastered Rifles & get to have sweet mitigations in Recon armor. I still wear my BH & Composites cause I like how they look too, but I know from what this Armorsmith told me, that Assault is for kinetic damage & Recon is for energy, one will not protect the opposite damage better than the other. Now I got to deal with cool looking Ubese armors that don't reach the same health caps as 7 piece armors. Ha ha, guess that I haven't completely wised up yet. But I do look better than thatLando Calrissian looking dude over there....Is the armor system in this game screwed or what?
Lol, well I wrote that list of caps and if assault armor is your only certification and you want to fight jedi then energy layered is the best choice.
Read that comment as "If out must hunt jedi in Assault then go for this option" and NOT"if you want to hunt jedi this is the best armor choice out of all that is out there" if that makes sense.

I personally think if you are a BH hunting jedi then you should make it your business to understand your weapons and armor and get the best you can to do the job in hand.
Frankly, you might look cool in your BH armor suit when you start the fight. However,the fact that you have thrown away upto 8% protection compared with going with that awful looking tantel suit with 8100+ and end up face down in the dirt with the jedi laughing at you - now that isn't a cool outcome
