Oooo So many ways to grind. I've been waiting for a grind post for a while on AS. My Alt it taking up AS and I'm kind of stuck at novice. Haven't been sure what to grind. Still not quite sure actually.

I have resources as I'm a MSW with Kess here. Lotsa grind reosurces laying around.

So Segments (any), Thencores till Ubese shirts, Then those till master?

I get the general idea right?

Just thought I'd throw a tidbit in.

I tried a simple crafting test on the XP for a recon core in practice mode and got 147xp from it.

I can confirm that the route for segments to core to practice bone armor, I use bicep pieces yields 279 xp with inspiration while in a research center player city. I am currently grinding AS and know this for fact.

wouldnt going topsg 1 and grinding deflector shield projector plates be just as good if not better as they are almost as good as the shirts, you get 84xp instead of 94, but you use like 20 units of resources less and youstart grinding more xp sooner.

A faster route, if you have a little cash or some harvs:

You will need:

145k Leathery Hide

210k Naboo Fiberplast

105k Polymer

165k Steel

80k Crystalline Gemstone

75k Aluminium

35k Copper

First, make six Recon Segment schems, using Naboo Fiberplast, Leathery Hide, Copper and Steel. Throw all six into factories, and go do something else for a good few hours (168 second per item wait).

When you have a couple of Recon Segment stacks (full stack has 100), start grinding Basic Recon cores. Eachuses 30 Leathery Hide, 30 Fiberplast, 30 Steel and 25 Crystalline Gemstone,for 147xp each. You will need to grind 191 to earn your first box, which should be Techniques I.

With Tech I under your belt, start grinding Standard Recon cores. Each uses 35 Leathery Hide, 35 Naboo Fiberplast, 35 Polymer, 30 Steel, 30 Aluminium and 25 Crystalline Gemstone, two of your Recon Segments, and will get you 236xpa pop. You will need to grind 2,918, to obtain Master Armoursmith.

Now you can grind just 3,100 items to obtain Master, and not 10,000. You can tip me on Sunrunner.

Couple of notes:

The resources above might not show what I list... ie, Basic Recon Cores use any gemstone, but I list Crystalline Gemstone. This is because I have tried to limit the number of resources you have to find or mine for yourself.

The xp numbers are without a musician or dancer buff. A buff would make it faster. So get one.

I estimate the cost to be 3cpu for minable resources and about 10cpu for the hides, so the total cost should be around 3,460,000 credits. It can be done far cheaper mining and harvesting for yourself, and you don't at this stage need to worry about quality of the resources.

Enjoy.

i would like to add that this macro works pretty good for me, but i found that you have to add a pause between

the first 2 lines or else the schematic wont load at all. and i had to add a space in /next C; line like that or else it woulnd work. after that it works fine.

/ui action toolbarSlot01;

/pause 2.5;

/ui action defaultButton;

/pause 20;

/nextC;

Thank you for the great guide. I was working on some xp today and thought I would try to pitch in a little bit with a few of the numbers. I was working with Recon Segments and Basic Recon Cores which are learned at Novice AS. Here are a few numbers that I came up with.

Recon Segments: XP

10 Steel No Buff: 35

5 Copper No Buff / Practice Mode: 36

15 Fiberplast General Buff: 39

5 Leathery Hide General Buff / Practice Mode: 40

Basic Recon Cores: XP

30 HideNo Buff: 140

30 Fiberplast No Buff / Practice Mode: 147

30 MetalGeneral Buff: 154

25 Gemstone General Buff / Practice Mode: 161

When buffed if you craft a Recon segment for 39 xp, then use it to craft basic Recon Segments you can recieve a total of 200xp each. (39 for the segment + 161 for the core in practice mode.)

Now lets look at the Armorsmith Skill tree.

XP requirments for each tier.

Tier 1: 28000

Tier 2: 39200

Tier 3: 50400

Tier 4: 61600

This means that a full column requires 179200xp, and the total for all four columns is 716800xp. If the above method is used, we can discover how many segments and cores need to be made in order to achieve our target. 716800 / 200 = 3584. This means that we will need to craft 3584 segments and cores.

The materials required for all of this (if doing recon) are listed below.

Steel: 35840

Copper: 17920

Metal: 107520

Gemstone: 89600

Fiberplast: 161280

Leathery Hide: 17920

Hide: 107520

I have not yet had a chance to test this method and/or xp values with an AS buff. Depending on server and times that a person plays it can be very difficult to recieve one of these buffs due to the dancers and musicians being afk. So for grind purposes I would recomend sticking to the general buff and save yourself the hassle of searching for an at-the-keyboard entertainer.

Hope this helps out a little bit and thanks for starting this guide.

My next step is to compare these numbers with what I can get if crafting the cores and segments, then using those to make an armor piece with them. I will report the numbers shortly.

Happy grinding
