Thread: Do you enjoy AS?

150 million? I have nowhere near that amount of money, jeez.
How much would you guys say I would need in start up cash? Also, I only have 8 lots between my 2 toons, is this enough?
I made close to a billion credits just killing krayts pre-cu and selling pearls...I loved it with a passion, and weirdly enough I even loved it before the krayt explosion when I had to ride around for 1-2-3 hours looking for them. ![]()
Money isnt a necessity, because if you have lots you can harvest what you need...maybe get some scout too to get the hides. The reason I have invested heavily is because I want to be a monster crafter and sell a lot, and hit that magic 10 digit credit number...whether it happens or not is a different matter.
If you can free up those other lots of yours itll help a lot though.
i'm a new 12pt AS and tbh i quite enjoy it, runniong off loads of high quality armors and i love tryina get caps on em etc...

I can cap Recon armour now, but only after using a resource kit for Lokian Leathery Hide (too impatient to wait for spawn!)...once a decent one does spawn im hoping I can harvest it to death and set myself up for a good 2000 suits or so.
Battle Armour isnt quite good enough yet, still need some nice shifts...and my Asasult Armour is a way off as no-one has any Dath Fiberplast and the current shift is poor.
Slowly im getting there, but its sure fun!
Yeah I'd agree with you there, unfortunately Tempest hasn't seen a high qual Polymer Spawn in forever so I think that's hurting our armor more than anything else
I was looking like mad recently and asking on forum, but a new polymer has spawned which isnt brilliant, but is decent I guess...OQ=642, SR=991. Got 27 BER 13's on it so hoping to get more than enough for it for my own use.

Polymer is the permanent culprit for many servers.. For unlayered cores, polymer represents 12.7% of all resources used in it, and considering that cores take nearly 30 different types of resources, polymer is by far the most used of them all (followed by amorphous gemstone at 6.6%).
Regarding polymer, I recently checked out the "best ever" polymer in the swgcraft database; turns out that Kettemoor and (I think it was) Scylla have had hard luck with this - 905 avg oq/sr whereasother servers have had polymer with more than 980 avg. Of course, there might have been some that was never entered into the database, I don't know..
I miss the good old days sometimes..... RIS used to be fun to make

I remember when RIS crafting was seat of the pants stuff, critcal fails, super hard to get loot components...now its just another type of battle, just with more condition.
I really enjoy armorsmith
I think that I enjoy the business side of things a lot too. They could "nerf" the profession to hell and I would still be here. I run an armor mall with 5 other armorsmiths, and generally speaking are very successfull. If people on our server need armor they know where to go.
It can be very difficult and expensive to start a business (in any profession) from scratch, but that is just one of the challenges. Many will say they don't like the changes, but I can say that it doesn't bother me. BH armor has been a huge boon to my business and I think a great addition to the profession.
The money side of things is great too, but don't expect a get rich over night type experiience
When first I thought about as I didnt want to do it after looking into the detail that it configured. I figured i already had my hands full but as the months went by I found myself sitting on tons of rescorsesthat I had reserched an harvested. Made my crafter a 12pt as ris cert. 12pt. de ma. Started crafting armor an ever since my first cap I loved it. The one thing to be concerned about is inventory. You will never have enough room. There are tricks to this though if you know em. I can now say my very view on the game has changed somewhat after playing for 2 years. I love armorsmith I hand craft every suit , sure it takes longer but I take pride in what I craft. I feel as though im helping in a small way. AS is a good choice. Credits will no longer be a problem if you pick this profession. Just take a look on the de boards , dont even read a topic just look at the topics names. We are being hit really hard overthere. Its just a good thing I have my armorsmith to back me up or my toons would be broke.

I did enjoy it, and despite what some may say, AS is more challanging now than beofre. Yeah expermintation is more simplified, but now we have more to craft. More appearences, and more combinations. Before it was Stun Composite, or Kinetic composite, or Blast Composite, or if you really wanted to get all crazy.... Acid Composite...
Personally I've lost the joy, due to RL issues. That and to be honest I never really wanted to be as popular as I am as an Armorsmith. I just want to craft and keep a nicely stocked vendor. But I guess that makes me a popular kinda guy, expecially since after the CU I was about the only one on Flurry that did this. So I'm bowing out for the time being. But all in all, I think it's a great, fun, and challenging prof.
