Full XP? That can't be right. If I make a run of 100 ribbed shirts that'd be what? 14k xp? Sure it'd take 3000 metal and 3000 fiberplast but i have that, maybe i'll give it a trial run tomorrow and see what happens (yes i'll stay by the factory). Does anybody know if you have to be in-game to get the xp or can you just log by your factory?

The ranges are bugged. When I move 500m away and enter Moenia (message on screen), the XP gain stops. So don't rely on any values you'll be told about.

Must it be your own factory? I made a schematic, had my local armorsmithput it in his, and sat next to the factory for a while, but couldnt see any appreciable difference in XP.

Also I can access the schematic slot, but none of the hoppers - I think this is a common problem with administrator rights on buildings.

Have the devs ever *officially* said anything about this factory radius business, or is this all guesswork and rumor on the part of the players?

(Not meaning to be sarcastic or anything - I just can't recall ever seeing an official mention of any of this....)

It has to be your own factory. Your local armorsmith is getting the xp even though it is your schematic.

I have never found that I need to be close to my factory to get the XP it generates.

I put a 100 unit schematic +all the requiredmaterials intomy factory last night (I'm an Armorsmith, but we use same Wearables Factory). I logged immediately after that right next to factory. 100 units was supposed to give me about 4k worth of XP, but when I checked this morning, I only had ~100 XP gain, which was probably due to UXP. All 100 units were made successfully.

I've been watching my factory XPVERY closely, and Ican confirm the "proximity rule" - you have to be within the certain distance (or may bein the same zone?) to get XP.

Question is, WHAT are you guys making?

I make synthetic cloth from my factory and even standing right next to it, I get about 8XP every 5 minutes. I'm not 100% sure what it is cause i get lots of UXP per hr. That is cetainly not full xp. I'll believe the radius thing though. I've gone a ways away from my factory and seemingly not gotten any xp. I have no hard numbers for any of that.

Making metal fasteners though. I get lots of XP for that, Seems almost full GCXP.

I think you need to be connected and in the same region as the factory to get the experience. You can see the region you are in by checking the planetary map or by checking the vendor's (if it is in the same region as your factory) stockroom. Also, I am not sure is allcomponentsgive experience or not.

Actually, since factories are so much slower than making things by hand, you may be getting full xp. I heard that a full run of 100 takes almost 5 hours.

Right now in my two factories I make lots of components. trim, synth cloth, reinforced fiber panels. Then I either sell or use it myself. I thought about doing ribbed shirts but it seems like such a waste for xp. Did do a 100 run of cartridge belts though today. Talk about xp heaven.

I've noticed that production times increase in length higher up in the tailoring ladder you go. While a metal fastener or fiberplast panel will take 30 seconds to make a unit, a Synth Cloth or Ribbed Shirt takes about 2min 15sec (approx) each.

And on Test Server, I seem to get full exp sitting in my house with the factory right next door and I was able to recieve exp about 72m away from it as well.

But not much further.

I understand production time to be based on the complexity of the item, which matches your results there.
