Thread: Padded armor
actualy I think its a good idea to start your char with max health action
then the first thing you do is set it to a balanced stat on stat migration.
that why before you can afford good armor you have the hit points to do missions.
then by the time you can aford armor stat migration has balanced your stats.
I am a Slicer / Pistoleer and had the good fortune to slice myself a set of padded until I could wear it all.
Got some amazing slices like 33% off the helm ham cost etc.
Know what?
It's just not worth it.
I fight a LOT and my Action pool drops twice as fast with armor on due to the Quickness pool cost, even sliced. I kill much faster naked. I use stimpaks too so no, I don't try to regen.
Horrible but true. SOE dropped the ball on armor effectiveness.
While I agree on some points I disagree on others, I think the smuggler with good spices make wearing suit that much easier, also good chefs are going to be cherrished for what they can do. Have you seen some of the stuff a master chef can do? 1000 to some stats.. It's insane.
Also don't forget that in padded the more you get hurt, the less you get hit. Nearly all my customers have reported this back to me.

All I can say is that I have a handfull of HARDCORE bounty hunters that swear by their Padded sets. One guy today was hunting Witches on Drathomir and he could take 4 shots without getting incapacitated while his hunting buddy was getting one shot with Chitin.
There is more to armor than the visible percentages you see. Someone will eventually parse the damage and we'll see what armor is good for what.

I just made my first suit of Padded, is it me or does Padded Armor seem pretty useless. It is about 30% heavier for ecumberance across the board and you can get slightly highermax % than Ubese. Other than that you still have 3 vulnerablities you just swap cold for acid vs Ubese. All the other suits had at least a few peices that had some uses, but it seems like you are better off staying with Ubese since you are taking a much bigger HAM encumberance for a few more percentage points with padded.
It seems like the ideal armor is peice meal
Full Resist Tantel Helm
UbeseJacket forheavy tanks or Full Resist Tantel + Chittin Biceps for light tanks
Chittin Bracers
Ubes gloves
Armorweave pants
Full Resist Tantel Boots
I was hoping Padded would fill in the gap, but all I seem to get a way more encumberance for a few more % points.

*grin* ... the theoreticl best suit of armour has been known for a while - and he's pretty much spot on with it...
.. damned if i'm wearing it though...

I wanna buy some padded armor off you fine armorsmiths but before I do I was wondering if I could get some general stats/colors on them?
If you could direct me to a website that would be fine also.
Thanks much in advance
I would also like advise on some advanced padded. I have about 10 famba segments. I would like to know colors avalible and stats that a master with a enhanced robe might get.
Very intrested
Playing on tarquinas will work with a Master AS to get everything he needs
