Thread: Need opinions (other than Bone Armor Sucks.) How good is 40% En, non layered Bone armor?

remember that theinterwoven seg has 5 uses, so you will need to do fact runs just to make enough for one suit out of one schem. Also, voritor scales add kin and energy (maybe even a touch of condition too), so they might be a good enhancer to use along with those green cubes.

I recently made an Interwoven bone suit, that didnt turn out to bad.
But I noticed that with krayt scales you could get it resistant to everything except Lightsaber.
(using one stun and one kinetic layer)
Unfortunately I couldnt get hold of any such scales

Advanced Chiten segments... maxing out the kin with the resoucres I had at the time: 60/17... when I did a more balanced suit - 45/29. No enhancements. 10 point smith.
You may have been only using standard Chiten.

Thats pretty nice bone armor piece. Unfortunately, with no layer slot there's not much you can do with regular bone to kick it much higher. Get great rori bone and kammris iron to kick up your advanced segments as high as possible is probably priority one. The one area for play is in your seg enhancers. Personally I use Voritor scales to kick up energy and adding a tough of kinetic. They are cheap enough to get that it doesn't affect the pricing too much. Krayt can add the wide range of protection but it's small and the price becomes not worth it in my opinion.
Interwoven bone of course makes the best bone but the limited schematic is a pain. You need identical serial numbers on your power cubes so you are limited to about 6 per run for a total of 30 at most for a schematic.
I like what you are doing though as I like to keep a wide variety of armors on my vendor too. I think it suprises folks to see what some of the "lesser" armor can become now that we have had a years worth of quality resources to choose from. I get tells all the time by buyers that say that they didn't even know you could get 66% kinetic chitin or 71% kinetic padded.

It's called advanced segments and good resources. 
I make 64% kinetic, 16% base chitin. Could get the base up a ways more but I am more interested in making these types of armor light rather than bumping up the base. /shrug

I think I must have clicked on the wrong segement first time I made chitin, I was certain I'd used advanced but thought they came out very low. Tried again now and made sure I selected adv segement...much better results.

On the subject of non-composite armor, here is my latest project on chilastra
Color themed Mabari and Chitin available. Hardly anyone makes this anymore, so Im taking a chance there is a market for a comp alternative

Speaking as a non-armorsmith (just a customer):
Please keep up your good work of trying to promote non-composite armor. I am also tired of seeing everyone in composite, and I rarely use composite myself.
My fencer twi'lek uses Ubese or Chitin most of the time when hunting creatures, and I'd love to see some high-end chitin on my server (Gorath) also. My CM/Carbineer twi'lek frequently uses Tantal chest/boots with an energy layered Mabari helmet (Twis can't wear tantal helmets) for unbuffed faction-PvE - Bone is just too ugly.
