Thread: Is armor even working?!?!

It does....
Been watching this for the past5 days. Number over your head matches the reduction in the Character Sheet (CS).
".....hit for XX points of damage....armor absorbed YY points out of XX..."
Number over your head and number removed from Health in CS is XX. Not XX-YY.
/bugged this already.
Plus, noticed today that sometimes instead of XX being Removed from your Health. it is actually being ADDED to your Health. Quite a few time I've seen my Health go from 3000/3000 to 3055/3000 after being hit for 53 points of damage.
So all of this level balancing is going on and armor isn't even working.

0108 shows the Hit in the Combat Log but there is a second or 2 delay before it is removed from your Character Health. If you notice my Health is 3025/3000 Before being hit for 53 points (which 24 was supposed to be blocked by armor). The 3025 Health was from a previous hit that added to my Health.
0109 show my Health is now 2983... Thats a 42 point reduction in Health. This was also after 2 5 point Health Regen ticks. 1 right after Pic 0108 was shot that put my Health at 3030 and 1 right before this pick that put my Health to 2983 from 2978. That's 10 points added to the 42 reduction shown by pics that gives 52 (guessing hidden Dec. in there somewhere).
Now, even if you take those 2 Regen Ticks off (since they do not show in the pics). There is a 42 point Reduction to Health from a hit that SHOULD have only reduced it by 29 points. 42 is closer to 53 than 29........Plus, where did the extra 13 point Health reduction come from without showing any damage in the Combat Log. No change in Log between those 2 pics. And the 2 (Original Pic Files) have a Creation time 2 seconds apart.
I converted them to GIF for smaller file size for viewing....

nice findings. Ive also noticed that when I PVP some of my hits will ADD Health rather than take it way from my target (player). Please post these screenies and info on the TC Bug thread as it is very good info.

You know, I am beginning to wonder if armor is bugged right now, and the reason it seems to matter very little in PVE is that something is actually broken...
Might be worth investigating.
The bigger question here is the people that say it "DOES" make a difference in PvE. With this bug it tells me those people that came to this conclusion are basing their opinions on inaccurate data. They test with armor on only and NOT without any armor. So, how could they know ?
Either way... With or Without armor, tryng to go after anything 5+ Levels over you equals Death. Since that big of a Level difference means you are taking damage that is too high for armor to make a difference in the calculations. You either Die after getting hit 4 times, or 8. Either way you look at it, you die before you can kill your attacker. Maybe against stuff that is your Level or only a couple of Levels higher, armor will help a little in that situation. But, when it comes down to it, it is not REALLY needed. So, benefit against cost means the average player will not buy armor for PvE. Since the outcome is predetermined (pretty much) by the Level Difference.
Armor Reduction amount is Added to Health, nothing taken away and Regen ticks up and up. At one point I was able to get my Health to tick up to 3104 (not in combat). Then 2 phantom hits (nothing in logs, nothing attacking me) ticked my Health down to 3000.
Armor Reduction is ADDED to your Health, then (1/2 second) full damage is taken away. This MIGHT be what they intended, who knows.. But, the math works out in the end here.
Full Damage Amount is taken away from Health (armor reduction NOT calculated)
Nothing added or taken away from Health. This works fine.
My combat lvl is 80 (top)
I fought a stormie lvl 25
Each time he hit me was for 51-53 points (ejem!) both with or without armor.
I also noticed that random add of health to my health.
