I'm actually looking to start an Armor Emprium with a couple other smiths. Thaty way the load is distributed evenly. Makes sense and having all the armor in 1 shop means we will prob make a ton of credits. People won't have to travel the galaxy to get all the armor they want, they can just go to one store.

i'm going to stick it out, at least for a while. i only mastered AS a month ago, and managed to spend all my money on good (not the best, but still good) resources. Luckily, i've made some of that back in the last week on armor sales, so i may be able to afford to "start over" my armorsmith career, by buying new resources.
if for some reason i am unable to afford to be an AS, i may turn him into a second combat toon, or a doc/CM to aid my guild on hunts(not too worried about buffs, just that i can play a role in combat as a healer)

staying and expanding business
I'm not sure about the expanding business part, but as long as the income is healthy, I'll be sticking with the armorcrafting gig.

I dropped to 0004 AS yesterday and will drop the rest soon. I'm currently going TK/Commando. Might go AS with my unlocked toon if that ever happens. I will NOT grind AS again with my current toon.

I'll stick out AS for at least a month, if I still don't like it, I'm going ranger. Worse off, am going to WoW or that new Ad&d game. least they know how to develope a system with a tried and tested game.

Staying.
I was playing with layers last night and looking at the schems. As far as I can telll the only things we will make in the CU are primus layers, each type of segment and each type of core.
A quad layered primus suit will use 15k resources and a ton of factory time while an unlayered suit will use 4400u resources. A quad layered suit will add maybe 1k (I'm getting +750 in test). That is a lot of resources for a small amount of protection so I really only seeing these suits for PvP. Not to mention they will easily cost over 1.5 mill credits if they are used with any kind of good resources.
So if you assume you will sell mostly unlayered suits the additional amount of resources we need isn't a huge list. Namely scaley, dant wooly, dath fiber, extrusive, phrik and link-steel plus the things you need for the skins (most of which we have already). We only have to gather a few additional resources and the resources goes from ~2600 to 4400 per suit.
For anestablished MAS all of the layers other than primus seem to be pointless as do all of the cores other than advanced. So with the few things we'll actually be selling I don't see the new resource requirements to be that bad (other than the amount needed is way too high.)

If things stay the way they are, I'll knock up some appropriate level armor for my guildmates, then quit armorsmith and go for jedi. It's a pity as I'd only recently reached master before I realised that I couldn't compete for resources, and that everything that made me go for AS was being changed.

Staying. I've only been playing since January, so I don't have any real attachment to the current system, except that I know how it works. I learned the old one, now I'll learn the new one. I imagine I'll do OK in the new system too.
