Ham will be great, you should be able to make some 200 mind ham helms with durability in the 55k...
With 67% segments I made helmet with 204 mind ham and 52k dur ( could have brought ham to like 200 but seemed more usefull to bump the dur....).
I was wondering what you did with those segs
Now I wonder what darvell did with the 67% rancor segs I sold him?

Kinda was hoping for eff slice on boots because those would have been perfect to put AAs but sadly boots had ham slice, helmet got eff.....

- They get hit the least, meaning your krayt armor will last the longest in these places, also meaning they're the best place to use armor attachments (for the record, boots actually get hit more often than the helmet by random pool attacks, and roughly equal to the pants).
- the HAM difference is relatively larger. You could make high base armor with crafted bits, and the seg will be 'X' HAM heavier than the krayt seg. 'X' is a proportionately bigger difference on a piece with little ham than a piece with high encumberance.
- More efficient use of the seg. Truth be told the HAM on any individual piece doesn't matter, it's the HAM on your total suit that counts, nothing else. Creating a krayt seg piece will save you 'X' HAM from a crafted piece, and you can save X HAM by using one seg in gloves, then another X by using 2 in a bicep etc...using up 4 segs to save X ham in a chest is a little wasteful. Yes, you save more than 'X' by experimenting the HAM on a chest vs experimenting the HAM on a bracer, but trust me, you save more off your suit overall by making multiple low-encum pieces than by one really lowered piece.
- slicing...with the randomness of slicing it's best to make as many pieces as possible from them so you have the best chances of getting one or more 90% pieces from them. Personally, I'd make one set of gloves, slice it, then keep making gloves until I got a pair that hit 90%, simply because gloves are the most efficient place to use these segs.
- decay...I wore a 90% chest plate to the corellian corvette, and walked out (after only one hour) with over 6,000 conditionknocked off it. Considering you can make high resist chests without needing this sort of loot, it's really just wasteful to use your loot for something that burns out this fast.
I've worked with this type of stuff before. I have a full suit of very enhanced armor, with 88.5% overall average resists, and only 423 total mind (trust me, it takes some uber loot to get HAMs that low with pure effect slices). But truth be told, the chest/legs/boots generally just sit at home, while I use heavy crafted armor in these slots. It brings the totalmind on the suit up around 580 (patch day heavy armor is HEAVY lol) but it lets me wear a full 88+ base suit and keeps the fastest decaying parts easily replaceable. My enhanced arms/gloves hold all my attachments, and decay at a snail-crawl rate. In fact, I've already replaced 2 90% chests this way, and onlyhad to repair 2 of myarm pieces so far, so it's safe to assume they'll last for many more chest plates to come.Buyingmore 74% chest plates to slice is easy to do, getting more uber krayt segs or NS loot is not.
