Thread: Anyone try to using components that would Assemble over 80%? I've got the 100% segments.

I've now got the 100% Kyat segments that were mentioned in another post.. and have a specific question -

Has anyone put together the pieces that would mathematically ASSEMBLE to over 80% on an item before? Using combo of layers, scales, hides, whatever.. any combo that would put a theoretical assembly to hit over 80%..

We all know there is an experimentation cap at 80% and popular theory is putting together armor with these 100% Kryat segments would cap at 80%.. but has anyone actually tried it?

We can speculate all day long on what we think would happen here.. but I want hard evidence one way or another that it has been capped for assembly as well as experimentation.

I believe how it was worded back when they changed it from100% to 80% was that "Experimentation was capped at 80% and slicing is capped at 90%" which is what we see every day right now.. but no mention of assembly...

And if does assemble higher that 80%, would experimenting on the item for HAM for example lower it to the 80%?.. We've seen an experimentation failure that changed the stats on the experimentation AFTER the failure occurred before.. granted haven’t seen that for several months, but used to be common.

Yes. Someone had some 110% base, 100% energy Acklay hides on here a few weeks ago. The armor came out at 80% base, 80% energy.

*edit* whoops, nevermind - I didn't see that you were asking about assembing straight to 80+ without experimentation - sorry. I'd say just find the highest oq/mal/ut materials you can to maximize condition and lower the ham on the pieces you make with them. *edit*

I made two pieces (one with exceptional NS layers and janta hidesand one with exceptional krayt scales) to see if I could push base or SP past 80. Both should have assembled to 90, but capped out at 80. This was at 100% experimentation, so it will not assemble higher. I have screens, but no time to upload them. This was attempted with composite gloves where the segment base was 55 ( i need 35 to hit 70 with my materials) in the NS layer/janta hide case and where it was 38 base with several SP mods at +20 or above in the krayt scale case. The NS-layered gloves turned out 80 elec SP and 80 base while the krayt scale gloves turned out 80 in all SP.

Those gloves were made a longtime ago, before they changed it so that 90% is the max.

100%armor can no longer be made.

I'm not sure if I would even make a finished armor piece out of them Ralf.. they're so perfect the way they are, to turn them into an 80% base Chest....? I don't know...

2 helms and pray one will have eff slice at least,

Ham will be great, you should be able to make some 200 mind ham helms with durability in the 55k...

With 67% segments I made helmet with 204 mind ham and 52k dur ( could have brought ham to like 200 but seemed more usefull to bump the dur....).

I kind of had a feeling that would be the case.. too bad.

But now the question is.. what should I do with 6 segments...

Ham Won't be great.. since obviously can't use any of my nice NS shards with it.. so not sure about Helm

But chest Wears out so fast, and that would leave me with just boots to match ... hmm...

I just got hold of 4 segs that were 74% base.

The good - I made a chest, and got to put all 12 exp points into HAM and condition.

The bad - It capped at 80 during assembly, so no 100% chest for me.

The ugly - Got an encumberance slice. Now it's about 100 health enc, with 52K condition...but not worth using.

My recommendation would be a chest, boots, and gloves. With high condition, and the chance of slicing to 90%, they would make good PvE armor, especially against Energy (DW Bunker, Corellian Corvette)

Making a helm with those would be a waste. I know the days of Jawa Ion rifles my be nearing an end, but as long as they are around, a 90% non-stun helm is virtually useless in PvP.

Well you could wear the helm in pve like you just mentionned you would do with your chest
