It was mentioned on test center that this resource stat change was intentional, and that it is likely that we only have around 1/4 of the resources we will need. This information is directly from Blixtev. He made it seem like it was possible the resource requirement could shift back.
This of course might all just be so we don't know what direction to take.

I'm quite...irritated myself with the resource change. I spent a lot of time and cash to get them, just to essentially have it wasted.
And no offense to Mought or any other new AS, but why should you be on an even playing field with someone who's collected and gathered resources for months? I know that sounds cruel but why are those of us who spent the effort now being punished in a manner of speaking?
I know personally I have 30+ million units and now, around 20 million of them are garbage to me come CU. It seems like again the Devs are catering to the new people and screwing the established ones.

Hey, I guess mypost came across kind of flippant and that was not my intent. I'm not happy that they rendered a lot of your stuff crap, I'm just pointing out, as you noticed, that perhaps this was intentionally donefor the benefit newer players. I don't mind fighting my way up the established (and respected) ranks of AS on Bria (Peter Griffin aside

I didn't intend my post as an attack, more of a disappointment. You see all these changes catering to new people, and essentially screwing us older, established players. Look at the inspiration buffs as an example. If I'm a novice dancer, I can buff you just as well as a master, just slower.
Just another irritating and uneccesary change in my opinion. There's no reason not to keep it OQ+SR like it is now.

The worst thing that could happen is we all still have the same resources as eachother and we all still make relatively the same armor compared to eachother and to before the revamp /shrug

Wow, with this change, and the changes to Jedi, they have nerfed both my characters in what will be known as the greatest nerf of all time.

To be honest, did anybody expect to use all the resources they had? As Blix said, everybody's just been making one (or at most 3) types of armour, and there's now, what, 17 different types? I've been just waiting for this day so I could (with my unsigged armoursmith) start gathering resources. I'd say wait a few days, make sure the high level schematics are out there, then take any still-useless materials and either sell them, (Master Artisans would love them to make bikes out of the metal materials, at least), or grind out as many suits of armour (of varying types) as you can so they just get converted by the change. None of us are 'screwed', we just have to work hard to get ready.

BLEH!!!
This makes me so sad I wanna cry.
95% of my resources are no crap and I'm now working shift at a sawmill so my SWG time is kinda limited. No way I can be a full time smith anymore.
Devs, please, please make armor crafting stay the way it is. I'm begging you.

How can they possibly consider adding the ~10 new armors AND switching the stats we use a good idea?
I have collected resources from all the way back in 2003. I have spent hundreds of millions on resources, and now they make half of them worthless/Semi-worthless?! If I believed in heaven and hell, I would probably call whoever thought that up the antichrist. This isn't a benefit for anyone, it's just cruel.
