having trouble recencly too, been at kimo spawn on and off all day. nada, all the people i meet there seem to be having the same issue

are we sure they dont drop at kimo town.... or is that a guess based on your recent experience?

from what I heard they are dropping from the one in Kimo town

I looted a set of 6 and a set of 7 from the one in Kimogila Town yesterday. I killed about 12 of them in total, sothey definitely are dropping.

I did end up going back to kimo town a couple of days ago. What can I say? I'm obviously a glutton for punishment...I've refused to give up my Master Armorsmith and Master Smuggler profs! 
Anyway, grouped there with a guy that had said he had looted some scales shortly before I arrived, so you guys are right. Still, I may try to make it to the volcano if the drops are any better there.
Oh, yeah...didn't loot any scales on that last trip either...

I think my first loot came onGDK #160 or so, 40 is a minor dry spell It is a low % chance and random, so you'll tend to see lucky and unlucky streaks. I wentto kimo townwith a friend the other day, and 3 out of 6 killed dropped stacks of scales.

sweet..now that it has been confermed that the kimo town gdk drops scales..i can always start there
