MK1's give you some more breathing room because of their higher condition. I used to carry these on me while grinding cause they would suck up enough damage to allow me to kill the beast, then repair it.

What I've learned on the repairing is that it's a random roll. I use 99.3% repair tools plus I have skill tapes for armor repair, and I still get fails. It's not you, don't worry. One thing you want to look at tho is what the initial condition of the armor is before you repair. if it is below 50% (condition) then you will have a greater chance of getting a fail, where as above 50% you still have that chance (the random thing), but it is slightly lower...

Hope this helps ya out some...

Armor repair sucks, maybe in two years after the other classes get fixed and the space expansion bugs are fixed we might get some attention.

<sigh> Don't feel bad...i get asked this in game like every 20mins i have my AS tag up.

Armour smithing do NOT get any bonuses to repairing armour to my knowledge. The % success of the repair is based on the quality of the armour repair tool and the condition of the armour (don't let it get below 25% IMO).

I've written a macro that explains this to people ingame to save myself the typing.

Of course when i feel like a **edit** and have time to kill i will take their armour and charge them 5k a piece to repair it

If it is like clothing repair you do get a bonus for being an armorsmith. I did an experiment with both a master tailor and a non-artisan (image designer) repairing clothing out of a factory crate with factory tools and found that I had much better success as a tailor. It is one of the links stickied in the main FAQ thread on the tailor forum. They did just change repair so that we do not get as big of a bonus, though. Weaponsmiths noticed the same thing (which is what made me do the entire experiment over again recently).

ok..but here is the jist of my question....

assuming the armor is not below 25% condition, lets say between 25-50% condition...

what kind of odds are there (in your experiences) that the armor will be destroyed during the repair process?

thx

you would have a good chance if you use a 95%+ tool. if you were to repair a set of comp. i would say IMO that 4/9 would be good repairs 3/9 would be ok repairs and 2/9 would be poor repairs mabye even beaks.

i dont know if u can work this out but the sooner we have skill mod for repairs the better.
