The random spawns Ive almost always found right around the volcano, or along the rivers in the southern half of Lok.
Now when I look for em I just vruise up and down the rivers.

dang 21 in 5 days is hella good i maneged to get 5 on like my 4th kill havent really tried after that but i got a bunch of bone frags gurk hides and everything els for the armor (including resources)

According to rumor, someone on my server looted a total of 48 in one night's hunting.
I can't verify this - but I can verify the three he sold my guildie so I could get certified and make two helmets. 
Despite being unable to find anyone selling them cheaply, I am hearing of them dropping still on Kettemoor, at least. [shrugs]

last time looted 2 sets of 11 each, but that was 3months ago. (same day)
100+ gdk's and nothing so far. just those sorry segments and alot of black bars.

I'm now at 136 kills with no scales.
Couldn't find any random spawns at all today (I think Lok is hosed). Ended up hitting the static twice then hunting Nightsisters with friends instead.
I did get 2 Gurk King Hides, but I already have a zillion of those.

i used to find GDK spawns near the skeleton POI and near the imperial base but that was a long time ago 
havent been to lok lately
havent been to lok latelywait i just made master armorsmith look out Kimos here i come

let me shed more light on the great gdk hunts 
. Myself and a guild mate have killed almost 300+ of these guys.

gdk 66 - 8 scales
gdk 272 - 10 scales
gdk 274 - 10 scales
gdk 278 - 7 scales
The last 3 I came across when I found a spawn of 3 gdk's in the same spot (yes 3 atone time). As I'm sure most of you know, the random spawns typically spawn 4-5 gdk's (one after another). Multiply that by 3. I had at least 12 spawn here. I fought these 12 non-stop for about 45 minutes. My BF hit 1000 in a matter of minutes. This was maybe a week ago.
Tips? only 1 really, fly around until you see one , you will find "hot spots" yourself, I want to say I have 15+ waypoints up on my screen while I fly around listening to the coolest music in swg . oh and don't camp kimo town, its really not worth it for 1 gdk. (I personally have never looted from that one, although it is possible). Typically I will fly by there when I start my hunt and when I end it.

I looted 2 scales just a day or two ago so they're still dropping but they're extremely rare. A couple months back I decided to do a little Kimo farming, and killed 30-40(solo, and all in onebuff session)GDK's in the hopes of getting some scales, but recieved nothing at all. At that point I gave up until recently when I went out hunting with a friend, we killed about 5 GDK's before we finally got our drop, it was small but is enough to at least get my alt Certified.

lol, my friend yesterday looted 10!!!
I was kind of shocked mainly because he didn't realize how rare they are
Course he then proceded to tell me how he deleted NS shards we looted from an Elder the previous night not knowing they were actually very good shards.

It may be a little difficult to believe, but I personally got 27 scales in about an hours worth of GDK bashing.

Geeze, I need some of you guys' luck. I've been trying to complete a set of RIS on and off for over a year now!
I think I'm cursed. Next time I go hunting, if I have a friend with me, I'm going to have him do the looting.
