I think I am the only one who thinks CU might be good for AS. Admittedly I am not an AS but I am thinking of respeccing to be one. The biggest thing going for AS is faction Armour. As long as this isn't limited to what faction you happen to be in then you guys are on to a winner! As A MAster Smuggler I can tell you I sell enough Stormtrooper Armour and its totally useless! Now that wearable ST Armour is here you guys will be wondering why you were even complaining! Sorry just trying to look on the bright side and I am sure like a lot of professions, its annoying to have to relearn your trade but maybe its time for you to change to W£S maybe os SW or DE to make it fresh for yourselves...I am WS and I am looking at AS with envy and will probably respec to AS after CU and as I don't know much about AS now then it will probably be easier for me....as a Smuggler tho I am well annoyed to be losing out on selling Stormtrooper Armour! It was my biggest seller!!

Tell me where these throngs of new players are. I haven't seen them, and since seeing is believing then i guess i can't believe there are new players coming to SWG. Oh you can hope and pray that the new movie will bring players back or bring new players in. But its a gamble, and the odds aren't in SWGs favor. The game is tanking, i admit that much. Only one thing can save the game and it doesn't include most of the stupid things they are doing. Not only with AS, but many principles in general. But by nerfing our resource stockpiles we're affectivley nubs with a few million credits left over. That is, if we haven't blown all those on now useless SEAs and ris components.

Most krayt segments suck so its a moot point. May be good for janta and NS layers but uhh not too much.

Personally I like the whole core thing as long as they dont go overboard with it. The cores are what really matter for armor so the apperance is just what ever the hell the buyer wants it to be. Saves me from having to stock a billion different advanced armor segments. Now I jus tneed to stock a few types of advanced cores.

Does experimentation/resource quality on armor appearance do anything? If not then the resource cost have been reduced a lot (and opening a new market for grind quality resources).
Also this opens up some new possibilities for doing business. The uber smith can concentrate on making cores and can have other smiths making the final armor. New business for new smiths (and less work for experienced smith). However, I guess it does not really matter since high resist armor will have increased hindrance so there might not be any uber armor anyway

With over 2 million subscribers (1.2 million in America alone) WoW is not only market leader but beating SWG by a factor of 10. The MMO market is shifting and getting more attention from casual gamers and those are comming in big numbers. That equals big business and more moneyto makean evolving and bettergame.
Arem, your post reminded me of something I had read a few month's ago. They were ranking the current MMOs. WOW was the obvious number 1. While they liked SWG they said the system was way too complex. Now this complexity is what we enjoy about the game, but it does make it prohibitive to new players, and creates an even wider gap between the established players and the new ones.
Now I wasn't aware that SWG was hurting for players. But if you are correct, it would make sense that they would go in this direction. This would explain why they want to change combat, but I still disagree as to why AS needs these changes. They should look at who their armosmiths are.
