Thread: what exactly are you all up in arms about

if you mean minor elemental resists as diversity then don't bother trying to explain it. From what we've seen those won't be worth it for the combat character to bother using unless they only fight a mob that does that specific elemental damage.
That's actually not what i meant at all. If you want my explination you can go here: MY optimism for the CURB

I have had this debate on a couple different threads, but i still believe there will be more variety in the CURB not less (I am a master AS), if anyone wants to continue this debate there is a thread to do it
But On a clarification there are 2 bars to experiemtn on, not 1. Condition and resists.
Linus, this is not a flame, but I will say this again. Where did you see the 2 bars of experimentation? Every faqs I read says 1 line. Please sticky this so it can be viewed. Thanks.

Even if resists and conditions are separate lines, that's still isn't much of a difference. Especially when you consider that what most people will care about is resists first, condition second. Right now WS dump everything into damage first, then put any leftover points into condition...but at least we have the option of putting extra points into Accuracy or Efficiency (even if we rarely do).
In terms of appearance, there will be greater variety of armor. But in terms of function, there will be less variety.

Clicky
About halfway down, under Step 2: Armor Segments it says
"Segments are the basic components of any piece of armor. At the "segment stage" a crafter may experiment on armor condition and resistances. An Armorsmith may also choose to incorporate up to four different elemental layers at this point. Armor Hindrances may not be experimented upon."
Also i realize no one cares about condition now... but i am hoping that the Devs have paid attention to this and made condition of more importance. If they haven't then this new system really be a lot more midless, but if condition is important, then i believe that As will still be a very complicated profession.
freedomwarrior wrote:Thanks linus, but still one problem. I cant find the post here where blix was talking to us, but in that post he stated that the condition was incorporated now into 1 line with the resists. So when you do the resists, you also do the condition and so on. Wish I could find his original post, but thats what everyone is in an uproar over as well. I hope what was posted on that page does make it, but I believe it was changed. Not 100% sure though.
Oh okay, i never saw that post, and i hope it's not true. Maybe we can ask Okram for a clarification...
I looked under "Blix's 12pt nerf" thread on these forums, and he still mentions two bars. Condition and resists.

I don't beleive this is true, but I will admit that I haven't got far enough in my AS TC grind yet to actually make anything, having real problems getting past the loading message, I log on on european evenings ![]()
My understanding from reading the docs and the posts here was that at layer stage there is a single resist line and at segment and core stage there are 2 lines, resists and condition and at final combine stage there is a single condition line. However, when you experiment resists it changes the third characteristic of armor - hinderances, this is what Blix said in that post that I too can't find
. We do not get any experiment line to change hinderances and apparently no one cares about condition so everyone is saying only one line of experimentation. Can someone take a screenshot please of the layer, segment, core and final combine experimentation window?
I personally think people will care about condition if the spending of a few exp points makes a big difference, it all depends how heavily leveraged the condition number is per point of experimentation spent.
The entire economy will change with the CU.
The only people able to buy your "1-3 million credit suits" will be the people with considerable wealth before the CU.

Maybe I should horde all my rare resources and sell them when they become super rare instead of crafting armor...

I've had that thought.... some of the resource sellers are getting wise to what is happening over here and rasing their prices on a lot of post CU usuable resources....
