Thread: Couple Questions....kinda simple.

I can obviously check this when I get home, but I'm just curious.....does the interface tell you which ones are current, or do you have to compare to your survey tool listing to figure that out?

1. The free 30k resource Vet award. How is this used? Does it show categories and then you pick the resource? If I click it is it "use it or lose it?" Can I see stats? you pick category, all the way down to specific resource. Then it lists every resource ever for that resource. You can check stats, and click cancel so you can go through and see what is best. So say you wanted to pick Neutroniuum steel. You select Inorganic. Then select Inorganic Mineral. Then select ferrous, then Steel, then neutronuim steel. It will then list every neutronium steel ever by name. You can go through and find the best and THEN select it. On a side note, it also lists current stuff. So if you want to see what the dath fiberplast is, then just check the resource kit then cancel.
The last one listed is the most recent. It may or may not be currently spawning. Send out the survey droids or starport hop to find out if something interesting is still around. Of course, some things, like creature resources or fiberplast (except gravitonic), are always in spawn.
Yeah, but you can also sample the organics without having to kill / harvest anything. And that's NIIIIICE ....

Exactly whyI use it.
Being a CL1 crafterand having an alt with no scout skills doesn't help at all. LOL
Good advice Hormel...I read and it gave me more then I could absorb.
I inventory'ed my old resources last night....its sad how much is not critical any longer.
Another question on resources......on the appearance/final assembly......is there a fairly large difference in the importance of ALL resources being Uber? For example....pre CU I could bump base up 1% with a 10 point increase in a final assembly resource. You guys notice that as well? Or Is it not that valuable to kill yourself improving a resource by 10 points?
Also, does the entertainer buff of 5% work across the combined stats? For example, if I had 900/900 Steel, would that be 945/945 with the buff?
Second, you get the biggest bang for your buck by improving your segment resources. Segments account for half the protection in an advanced core but only consume 85 units of resources [(5+5+10+15) x 3 = 85). The resources are also generic, meaning you can use whatever metal, steel, scaley hide, etc. you want. Compare this to advanced core, which require 250 units ((45 x 3) + (40 x 2) +35 = 250)) and half of them are named resources (Dantooine wooly or beyrllius copper).
Third, the entertainer buff is 2 percent, but yes, it raises all stats. A 900 stat is treated as 918.

Thanks again ya'll. That buff is very nice...tried it last night. Was able to patch together unlayered Assault Segs to 959 so I guess with the hardcap that is enough. Do ya'll deliberately scale down resources just cuase yu don't need to burn the best? Using an FAQ of ours here it appears I will be able to max out at 959 and possible could have used a less valuable resource.
I will tell ya though....some of these layer resources are UGLY on our server. Spent 3 nites now looking for Chromite Carb Ore.....geeez.

Yeah, I'm discovering that I need to really get my segments up. I think my battle segs are 928 or something like that. I thought I could cap it with my good core resources but I hit 5999.
