Krayt Dragon scales

Found on tatooine near the Krayt grave yard or near jabba's palace. These scales range from +5 to +15. 2-3 scales are needed +peko peko feather to reach +50 per peice. They drop from any of the krayts from juvenile on up. 3 stacks of atleast 10 are needed to make chest, helm, legs Preferable stacks of 12 or higher is ideal.

anyone that spends all this time and money to make RIS and desnt go loot are just well we wont go there.. I see guys selling RIS on my server with 5500 and asking 2-3 mill.. i nearly died laughing.. ahh well there loss and there customers : (

I didn't add in the Krayt Scalesbecause Health Bonuses are bugged now.

When the bonusesget fixed, I think I'll add them in along with NS Frags, Janta Hides, etc.

I added the Peko Feather because you need it for the quest.

with the arrival of elemental damage in the next patch we may find quad layered primus is no longer beneficial.

the increase to kinetic/energy may not outweigh the loss to the elemental resists

so my preference after publish 19 would be 2 simply max cores and get a 6000/6000/6000 result unless testing of elemental weapons suggests otherwise

You use Primus/Energy/Kinetic layers and yes armorsmiths make them.

Anyway, back to to my post.

I think it's almost finished and would like to take the DRAFT out of the title.

Does anyone have anything else to add?

i just craften a set with 5980 stats on all

can any one gimme some more info about these Quad Layered Kinetic or Energy(each cap at 7200)

can i make them? or is it loot? if so .. who drops

I don't have the schematic yet, I'm just starting to gather things for it, but I've noticed there's only two materials that you have listed quality requirements for. Am I to assume the other qualities are whatever? Or are there quality requirements on those too? For example, I have titanium, but it's very low quality, without having the schematic I'm unable to tell if it's something I can use or if I need to keep hunting.

are you sure the health bonus is bugged? i crafted a suit a couple days ago with peko feathers and got a +20 health bonus to all but the boots and gloves. i then had someone try on the suit to see if the mods stuck and sure enough his health went from 3000 to 3140. i had heard only post cu feathers gave the health bonus but these were pre CU looted ones.

Adding a few tidbits overlooked by rich and/or experienced MAS while doing this quest.

1. You have to pay the hermit 50k credits. I actually didn't have this on me, but luckily my bodyguard did. Not a problem for rich MAS, but a problem for poor ones who just spent lots of money buying resources to do this quest and make RIS.

2. You should have a bodyguard if you are cl 1 . While I could drive there on my swoop just fine, the hut was surrounded by reds at the time I was there, so you never know what will spawn.

3. unless you are into total immersion and want to go back and forth for training from the hermit and a location with an armor crafting structure, have your shopping/loot list complete by the time you get there and bring a crafting droid so you don't have to go back to a city to make the items.

4. When he gives you the quest for the RIS layer or feathered enhancement, but he refers to it as a layer, do not freak out and have heart failure like I did thinking my quest was bugged. The feathered enhancement schematicdoes not show up in the "Layers" subcategory even though he refers to it as a layer. It is found in "components" subcategory.

5. Small note, and intended for those who did not have major AS experience before, when working with looted stacked items such as the GDK scales unstack them before starting your crafting machine and make sure your inventory isn't painfully full.

6. If you are hunting your own GDK scales at the static spawn point and are on a populated server you may want to bring a full team of damage dealers equipped with their fastest weapons, not to take care of the mob, but to win the damage wars that inevitably take place over GDK.

(still wondering about the quality requirements on the other items...does it matter?)

Justapilgrim and Javrie, thanks for the feedback.
I'm on vacationatm and don't have much time to update the guide, but I will as soon as I can.

The quality of the resources used for the RIS Segment/Feathered Appearance Enhancer DO NOT MATTER. The only 2 resourceswhere quality matters are the 2 used on the final combine (Talus Fiber and Chron Alum). These use OQ+SR+DR (Yes, DR does count) to increase condition. All Resists are based on the quality of your cores.
