Thread: Best stats you can get on Tantel armor???

I have been toying with tantel recently as well, and I find it to be GREAT armor. As a TKM, for PvE, I don't even use armor normally, but this occasionally gets me into trouble if I take on some NPCs. (I have been a bit leery of them since they got specials and weapons back.) The low encumberance barely hinders me at all and the protection against stun is great if they pull out a baton or something.

I also have had some success with it in PvP. I don't tote around stun comp with me everywhere, but this stuff has deflected geo blasters and stun batons nicely. It just looks great wailing on someone in Tantel and not getting smoked.

I want to see how high I can get the base on a good slice. I wish it had something besides energy as a special protection. I hate sacrificing that to crank the base higher, but hey... the way it is.

It wasnt your timing. It wasa bug because no armor is allowed to be different from any other armor. And nothing is allowed to resist lightsaber damage. And if it does its a bug because well thats just the way its supposed to be. The Imperial PSG's were resisting it to for awhile and that was "fixed". Wouldnt want to upset the jedi players right?

They had learned of the mistake long before you had trust me.

The only difference is that Personal Shields are supposed to resist sabers. Not only did Thunderheart say this, but think of it in movie terms. Do you think the stuff Lando was wearing would have held up at all against a lightsaber? Now think back to episode 1... Obi-wan and Qui-gon didn't walk up to the destroyer droids and slice them in half for a reason.

I wasn't able to get higher than 25% base. What sucks is that the base doesn't adjust the special like it does with composite. 31% energy, 25% base.

The CSR told me that Tantel was supposed to resist lightsaber as well. Hmmm. Oh well, it doesn't now.

Ultimatley this is up to two groups. First is our correspondent whether he believes that PSG's and Tantel should resist lightsaber to fight our cause on the correspondent forums. Or to make it a top 5 question. The second is the devs to come down here and stomp it down with some answer beyond "Its addressed in the combat revamp"

I like your style

... and I also think that Tantel is well worth the effort, as a good slice will make it a rather cool piece of armor.

I am personally curious what kinda of stats I can hit using some segment enhancers, such as Janta Hide or a Nightsister Layer with a high base modifier.
