Last night I made a 25% base using standard NS layers and rancor hides. If my Avian bone was better I think 30% would've been doable.

Made 21% energy/27% base tantel without any enhancements. I think the maximum base resist without enhancements is 30%.

I can manage to get my tantel to 28% base. Again, my avian bone is probably my worst resource in this build.

is 20-30% really even worth the trouble?

Personally, I would say yes. The good thing about tantel is that currently, it resists everything but lightsaber, and has low ham costs. The bad thing, max 30% resists, with an average of around 15%.

Look at this way. You are a TK, doing PvE. A little armor, with very low to no ham cost. I would absorb 15% of the damage. 15% of 500 3 times is 225. I have won a few battles with some PvE by 5 points...

It is worth the trouble, because it can be enhanced, then effectiveness sliced.

PS, tantel , like all armor is AR1. That means it eats 50% of resisted damage off the top, then the 15% has a crack at the rest....

ex. 100 points kinetic damage. 50 taken by ar1, leaving 50 points. 15% is roughly 7 more points. Grand total- 57% of initial damage.

Tyyrs,

Tantel is currently resisting lightsaber. Yes i know its a bug but it is there. Tantel has no vulnerabilities and pretty low ham costs. But we never did get an advanced tantel segment

But what gets me - There is no advanced Tantel segment. Why??!

For the stun resist, I'd say it's pretty good.

I guess, because its supposed to be an "ancient" armor.

But It'd be a great thing to introduce. Imagine ultra light helms with stun resists of 50%....that'd drive the riflemen nuts.

Well for the armor itself that makes sense. But for the segments since it so old a better recipe would have been created to make an advanced segment. We are also only looking at 3 pieces of tantel still. They never finished making the rest of it.
