I was replying to your constant whining about how you "give" everything away. If you don't like having to deal with crafters to get your gear you definitely picked the wrong game since it was designed from the start to be a player driven economy.
A big part of how the economy was designed was that player created items weresupposedto be better than looted ones. To give all the happy loot campers something they added all these looted schematics and components but in order to stay true to the original vision of the game, they made it a requirement that crafters would be required to utilize these things. By doing this they maintained the ability for the crafters to still make the best gear in game (not counting the rare exceptional and legendary items).
Finally, you have just as much opportunity to get "rich" as anyone else. It's up to you if you want to spend the time hunting and camping for stuff. Yes, you won't get paid as much as the final product your looted component is going into, but you also didn't have to pay for it, the resources, structure and power maintenance, and the time to create the item either. Just as you have to the right to makea profit off of your work, the crafter has the same right to make some money off of theirs.
Anyway, I am done trying to explain all of this. You don't have to like it (and probably won't), but the cold hard fact is that's the way the game works.

Why cry to us about it? Do you think we like having to wait for a combat player to bring us loot for a custom order before we can makeour better items?
Your claims of pro-crafter favoritismappear self-centered and somewhat ignorant. The system may need work, but show me a system that can support crafters where the best loot is dropped solely for high level combatants. It can't work.
Let's look at the RIS example you used.
For armorsmiths, the quest is a nightmare of getting combat help and praying for loot drops, or paying an arm and a leg for them. At the end of this quest we are rewarded with nothing more than a schematic, that we can't even collect the resources to make ourselves.
For combat players, it is a series of loot drops to pick up from high level monsters (combatants are in it for the combat, right?) and sell to us at whatever price you come up with, ultimately determining what we sell the completed item for.
So, we get an armor we can't make without your help, you get high level mobs to fight, millions ofcredit's worth of loot, and ultimate control of eventual market price.
hehe, who was it getting the raw deal again?
Yep, master pistoleer and armorsmith here. I've seen both sides. It's called interdependance.
this entire conversation is just inane.
Boba, you are trolling. It is quite clear that your ideas are not meeting much support, and thus further discussion of them is leading you nowhere. If you care to prove that you aren't indeed trolling, I challenge you not to post again on this thread. If you can do that....congratulations, you win.
What is it that gives people the idea that just because they began a thread, they are immune from being the troll or flaming. I mean, really. If I start a thread calling all armorsmiths idiots, and they respond by saying they are not idiots, and I must be one for calling them that. Who flamed first?
Mr Boba-Fett30. There is a way for you to kill monsters and get good stuff. It is perfect for you!
It's called Everquest. Please go play it...now.
